I've just upgraded a clients PC from XP Pro SP2 to Vista 32 SP1.
He was adamant that he did not want to have to reinstall all his programs and apps so an upgrade was the only way to go.
Did the usual spyware, virus sweeps and removed drivers and incompatible programs like Nero.
Anyway, the upgrade sailed through, but now the PC kept getting Run32dll errors when trying to open apps etc.
Turning off NX bit support helped get rid of the run32dll error messages but explorer still crashes and restarts whenever you try to use it to browse the hard disk.
In short its unusable, so I'd like to know if anyone has encountered this and fixed it, as I'm going to have to revert the client back to XP if it can't be solved within a couple of days.
Googling showed that its a very common problem, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer.
The PC in question is an E6400 cpu , 2gb ram, 7900gtx GPU, Gigabyte DS3 mobo.
TIA
