Running Cables Cat 5 Power ect...

presently i have our house networked and i have drilled holes and got everything working and nice..
Here's what it look's like
ok with that said i am drawing way too much power out of my outlets so i want to run another power cable i got everthing i need breaker's wire's ect.. but how well will a power cable go next to a cat5 cables? i was thinking about running them through the same hole in the celing and putting another wall jack next to my cat 5 outlet's in the room let me know what you think...
i know the standard's say your not supposed to do it but they also say you cant run cat 5 over 100 meters but u really can ..

Can you say data corruption!!!!!! 100 meters is a guideline not an absolute rule. Length of run depends on quality of cable, connections, and electrical interferance. Not a good idea to run cat5 next to ac power.

It's not a good idea to run power cable and cat 5 parallel to each other. You need at least 18 inches between the wires to run them parallel. It is ok to cross them perpendicular.

saltin thats the problem when i turn on something it tripp's the ups to kick on..

Actually, the main reason for the distance limitation is propagation speed. When you send out a packet, it only has a given amount of time to get to the other end and send back an acknowledgement. Over a certain distance, the ack won't make it back in time and the originating station will send out a replacement packet. As you can imagine, this rapidly leads to data corruption and network congestion. Signal attenuation and interference of course add to to problem. If you've got to run cable over 100m in a normal home, you're doing something wrong.
