Seriously, not many people know of "Spirit Of Radio" which is an amazing song. Often makes me tear up, so beautiful for this language.
Invisible airwaves crackle with life
Bright antennae bristle with the energy
Emotional feedback on timeless wavelength
Bearing a gift beyond price, almost free
cheesy puns about physics/electromagnetics is what passes for lyrical brilliance on ATOT?
<^>
The song is about how people take the miracle of radio for granted, believing that it is free, when in fact it is anything but free.
true, and that's all well and good. but that stanza is a series of puns about topics from physics 102. i think it's cheesy and dorky. that someone would tear up to this song is odd to say the least.
rush's lyrics sound like they were written alternately by a dungeon master and an engineer. i like my music to transport me away from my day job.
