As far as Geddy's voice goes He did sing a pretty high range in the early days but he has really gone away from that and has been singing in his natural range for many years now. Listen to the original recording of closer to the heart and then listen to a more recent recording like to one from Rio. Lifeson actually detunes for some of the older songs that Geddy originally recorded in that high range to accomadate His natural range now. Same thing with Working Man and several other older rush pieces. His natural singing range sounds very good to me.
Someone wondered why geeks seemed to make up a disproportionate part of the fan base. Well I think it is because of the Tech connection. Anyone who is a serious fan of Rush Music and is familiar with how they produce it knows that they have always been on the leading edge of technology in the music industry. They are very Technically oriented and use some absolutely cool equipment to do what they do.
For those Who follow Rush's Stage sets, Geddy's Dryers and the vending machine have been retired and replaced with 3 commercial grade rotisserie chicken roasters complete with chickens (can't say if they're real or not though). Wouldn't surprise me if they were though.
