wtf?

<< We had a sure gold medal and it was just taken away >>

ummm how do you know she wouldn't have gotten the silver..or the bronze..or not medaled!? what a joke...i hope they pull the teams from the Olympics...that means the USA hockey team is guaranteed a medal!

That would would be sad. While I'm always happy to see them lose, I would hate for them to be out. They, far more than any other country, add excitement to any sport which pits them against the USA. Hope they stick it out.

The gold medal would be much sweeter if we took it from the russkies. Beating Belarus would only make Sweden happy.

It's an international competition. It's the one of the few times that if you have nothing to hide, then prove it. Rusia got caught more than likely either blood doping or using a performance enhancing drug. Now they are throwing a protest to pull attention away from themselves.

In the article, they say that a higher than average red blood cell count is a possible sign of that EPO drug OR high altitude training. I guess they have ways to differentiate between the two, right? And too much blood for a test? Can't a healthy body replace a pint of blood in 24 hours?

edit: seems like it replaces the volume of blood quickly but the RBCs take a few weeks.

No, it doesnt say that. It says EPO replaces expensive high altitude training unless I misread three times.

This is really messed up. They also are pissed about the pairs figure skating and frankly I'm not sure that I disagree with them.

I hope they stay, the US/Russia game will be a good one.

They are pissed because they got busted(doping). As for taking to much blood, I seriously doubt it happened. As for the pairs figure skating, it was obvious the Russians lost, its not like they lost a gold medal, the ISU could have replaced the French judge's result with the alternate, and taken the gold away from the Russian couple.

US/Russia game will be a good one, but 90% chance that US will win, not b/c they are better....

america really messing with dangerous things ... in Russia right now everybody is fscking pissed at america ... and not just ordinary ppl, but everybody ...

and Lazutina had her period ... that's why it was high ...

I don't believe there anytime soon going to be any Olympics in US ... and I'm very glad b/c of that....

just few things to point out:

olympians leave in some "re-decorated" student dorms
they get fed with "trash food"
they have different medals for different kind of sports, that's against any rules in sports (olympics)
they made medals in different shape ...

just to summarize , america is s*cks and they think way too high about themselves....

p.s. in that figure skating scandal, if u remove the french judge scores, russians still win ... (I think so, did calculate myself, heard on tv)

1.olympians leave in some "re-decorated" student dorms,

like that at every olympics, unless the athletes pay their own way(ie: the NHL players in Nagano)

2. they get fed with "trash food"

not true

3. they have different medals for different kind of sports, that's against any rules in sports (olympics),

The IOC makes the medals, and last I checked everyrecent olympics the medals are different from event to event, the engravings on them are of the event the medal is for,

4. they made medals in different shape,

The medals are all the same shape, roundish, but its a moot point the IOC is the one that makes the medals

Nope. If they removed the french judge the alternates results would have been used, the alternate placed the Canadians 1 and the Russians 2.

I suggest you reconsider that statement. Women tend to become anemic (low red blood cell count) while menstruating. Nice try.

I find the rest of your post just as ignorant actually...

Also let me add, the IOC is the responsible party of governing the olympics. The host country builds the facilities needed to host the games. When it comes to doping, etc its the IOC and the various governing bodies for each sport(ie the ISU, etc etc), the USOC and the US have no control of taking to much blood or not giving enough time. Its an international effort, there are judges, refs, drs, and various other volunteers from around the world. As I said before, the Russians got busted and they are pissed. Its doping is not uncommon in the cross country sports.

In America, when the ordinary people are pissed, we say the country is pissed. I dont know about you, but that's the general standard here. As far as Russia being pissed, unless they nuke America, they cant project much military power right now at the USA.

<< and Lazutina had her period ... that's why it was high ... >>

Got a link for that?

What, the olympians were expecting... suites at a 5 star hotel free of charge, with unlimited room service? Hell, I live in a dorm RIGHT NOW.

Since you set your profile to read that you're living in OH, I assume you found something good enough about america to be living here instead of russia. Furthermore, until we get knocked off the top of the hill, we are the world's only superpower. I dont agree with all of our nat'l policy, but, we will never be able to please the ENTIRE world all the time. Some parts of the world want us to be the policemen (which we arent, as citizens pay for their police protection through taxes, which for example is something that ROK isnt doing right now, despite the fact that we have, IIRC, 42,000+ troops in their country protecting them), and some want us to do nothing, ever, no matter what is occuring in a given country.

God hes pissed off about tieing the US in hockey. LOL. Unspecified goal judge. Oh come on we know what you mean. Its the one were the Russian goalie rolled over into the goal with the puck, and was ruled as a goal as it should have been. They claim they are being picked on for drug tests. Duh, if you medal you get a drug test, along with two others at random. Just so happens the Russians have got on the podium alot for cross country. What does Russia want? Gold medals for nothing? Drug tests are a part of sports. Damn I don't know who are worse sports the Russian Governing Committee or the South Korean Mens Short Track team..

I won't argue with you all ... b/c I don't think I will be in any chance of winning here ...

rmblam: maybe u r right, I'm not good at this stuff, just heard it on TV ...

LH: and what are the alternatives results ? who gave them ?

Mookow: just as an example, in '80 , USSR built a special "hotel" like township for olympics

I didn't not chose to live in america, my parents chose, which they regret now ... and after living for 6 years in america, I didn't find anything good here .... and my anger towards america just grows every day ... after me and my sister finish our education here and get citizenships, I don't think we will stay here any longer...

I don't blame you , that you love ur country, nothing bad in that (actually in some way I respect US ppl that they are so patriotic to us) .. it's just they never seen anything better, b/c us makes standarts for them, and anything off the standarts == bad

<< He speculated that such Games might bring together athletes from a number of countries affected by biased refereeing in Salt Lake City, such as Ukraine, Belarus, Korea, China, Lithuania and many others. >>

LOL. Belarus? Bzzt, doping. Ukraine? Bzzt, doping. Korea, gimme a break. China? They fell in the pairs figure skating and still won a bronze while the americans didnt fall, and didnt medal, again give me a break, as for other events, I dont see anywhere, were the Chinese have been judged unfairly. Lithuania? They are at the Olympics?

The rooms arent any smaller than they were in Nagano. As for the judging of the pairs, the alternate was from Europe, I cant recall which country and I cant find the link at the moment. I can already bet that if the Russian loses in female figure skating tonight, Russia will be pissed.

[sarcasm]Damn the testing, allow these people to destroy their lives.[/sarcasm] Obviously that Russian fellow never heard about the blot clotting side effects of doping. The IOC is protecting athletes, coaches, and nations from their own competitive spirit. I have no sympathy for the bozoes that get caught breaking the rules; the lesson is do NOT get caught.
