Ukraine is getting very desperate in attempts to backstab/demonize Russia anyway it can, even with a humanitarian convoy. Meanwhile shelling of civilians continues and
deaths doubled in the last two weeks.
Two can play that game: if the "rebels" (ahem, Russian agents) surrendered, then there's no need for deaths.
As for the humanitarian convoy, can you blame Ukraine for being suspicious, given Putin's track record? Only a fool would trust Putin's words--that megalomaniac has squandered every last ounce of trust and has to earn it back. Ukraine's conditions are pretty reasonable, too: cross the border at a Ukrainian checkpoint, the cargo should be inspected, and the convoy accompanied by a neutral third party, like the Red Cross.
Let's see if Russia meets those reasonable demands, or if it'll somehow turn it against Ukraine, e.g., a false flag attack against it. That's certainly nothing new for Putin.
