Go ask the warmongers in this thread bud. I’m not the one posting tweets of humans being blown to pieces and celebrating it like a psychopath.

I am rooting for diplomacy, which is how most wars end.

This is a lie. You fully support Russia's war of aggression. Now go fight and stop being a coward.

Act of self defense…that’s hilarious considering WE are the ones who invaded THEM, and get pissed when they attack us for being on THEIR land.

‘How dare they strike us while we are their plundering that natural resources!’

Funny stuff.

Maybe we should set the example by pulling out of Syria before telling other countries on what to do militarily. Just a thought…

We again is it?

Rub a little more on your forehead, you missed a spot. Mmm, pungent.

Calling the people who support Ukraine defending itself, from an invader on Ukrainian soil, the warmongers. Haha fuck you're dumb.

Do you support the Syrians defending themselves from an invader on Syrian soil? Didn’t think so hypocrite.

BTW what I said earlier a few hours ago on what my prediction was, is already happening. Iranian proxies just launch another attack on US bases. How about you tell our warmongering president who is trying his best to get us into WW3 against not one, but two nuclear powers to tell the troops it’s time to pack up our shit and go home. And tell him to try not to drone strike innocent families only the way out as well. Thanks.

Why don't you care about Russian war crimes coward? Why do you support Ukrainian civilians being tortured and executed, tossed in a mass grave? Why do you support the kidnapping of Ukrainian children, coward? Why does Assad butchering his people also not bother you? I'm against atrocities no matter where they occur, Ukraine or Syria.

No one cares about your demented view on history, tell us about you tankie. Is this complete lack of humanity, over politics, an inherited trait or did you work at it?

Haha, what a huge load of crap. I hope you feel better after dropping that.

And your praise of Chinese engineers seems more than a little idealistic. Yes, they have numbers, but if Chinese engineers were so superior to their Western counterparts the majority of Chinese tech advances (still behind the West) wouldn't be the result of unprecedented levels of global espionage, both military and commercial. Innovation plays a distant back seat to rote memorization in China, and numbers aren't the end all be all aspect of things like R&D, or even warfare - or have you failed to notice that despite overwhelming numerical superiority, Russia is still not winning this war of theirs? They are getting spanked by NATO trainees using a tiny fraction of NATO budget and abilities.

If you're curious about war, ask the Chinese. They're the ones that want one. Cheerleading China and Russia is a bad look though, it's just a pity crimes against humanity don't seem to matter to you.

Do you ever wonder why you post on an forums like this? Do you think you could quit doing it? I believe people like you and me are the broken ones. We discuss politics with strangers, pretend that it matters and wish we could break our addiction to this damn thing (at least I do). The people living real lives wouldn't waste a single second of their life engaging in a pointless activity that only brings pain, stress and anxiety to them. I see what the internet had done to my life and imagine what it has done to my son's generation and I can't fathom a way they can navigate into meaningful and happy lives. The internet is an unremitting nihilism stream, perfectly designed to make people insane. It is also as addictive as heroin. How can a younger generation in America brought up and addicted to this garbage compete against a younger generation in China that is protected from it?

Over half the things in my house has a Made in China sticker on it. I have made an extreme effort in the past few years to not buy Chinese stuff, but it is really difficult. I am not sure if Americans are aware of just how fully dependent on China we truly are. Critical infrastructure like medical supplies is dependent on them. We no longer possess the ability to manufacture the goods we need. If we do have conflict with China, it will likely result in the greatest drop in standard of living in American history. It would introduce real physical suffering to the American people for the first time in decades (something I have never experienced).

It really is a racist trope to believe Chinese engineers are in any way inferior to white American engineers. From my experience working with Chinese engineers, that is a pipe dream anyways. According to the Wall Street Journal, China is BEATING America in 37 out of 44 bleeding edge technologies. They had a great civilization when Europeans were still barbarians. They fell behind because of their isolationism. That time is past. They have not yet reached their potential. Their only true weakness is the catastrophic population bomb that will wreak havoc on their civilization in a decade or so.

The report, published Thursday by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, puts Chinese researchers ahead of Americans in 37 of 44 technologies examined, across the sectors of defense, space, robotics, energy, environment, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, advanced materials and quantum technology.

“In the long term, China’s leading research position means that it has set itself up to excel not just in current technological development in almost all sectors, but in future technologies that don’t yet exist,” ASPI concludes. No other nation is close to China and the U.S. in the research race, according to the Canberra-based think tank, which is primarily funded by Australia’s government. The report put India and the U.K. distantly behind them in most sectors, followed by South Korea and Germany.

China is also colonizing Africa and Middle East and establishing monopolies on the most valuable minerals on earth. Every electric vehicle bought by an America makes China stronger. If a conflict with China arises, would happen to America's fleet of electric vehicles? We are transitioning from vehicles that are much less dependent on China to vehicles where our transportation would be dependent on our ability to buy batteries (or key ingredients for batteries) from China.

After years of planning, China now dominates the world’s production of new generation batteries that are key to transitioning away from fossil fuels. These new batteries are essential for electric vehicles and most portable consumer electronics such as cell phones and laptops.

According to data released from Benchmark Mineral Intelligence, a London-based research firm for the lithium-ion battery industry, in 2019, Chinese chemical companies accounted for 80% of the world’s total output of raw materials for advanced batteries.

Regarding China genociding it's own people. Has ANYBODY quit buying China's products in protest? I imagine it can be done but it would require the person doing the boycott to make real changes in their own life. It is easy to say what China is doing is wrong and barbaric. Most of us do that. If more of us took the next step and altered our own lives to punish China by our economic activity, it would certainly do much more than what the American government could do. I believe one's level of sincerity should be measured by one's actions, not one's words. I fail in miserably in this regard and freely admit it. I do see China as an enemy but I still buy Chinese products. Hypocrisy comes for us all I guess.

In the end I realize this post is just more meaningless drivel that will accomplish exactly nothing but not surprisingly I did get the old familiar dopamine hit. Addiction is such a bitch. Feel free to roast me mercilessly about the meaningless drivel I post but please do make it humorous. There are few things that bring a smile to face, a particularly incisive putdown is one such thing.

So much straw, where to start? I lack the interest honestly, and even if I prefer to keep it short it's good to see you're not taking yourself too seriously. I don't think you deserve the same treatment as a state paid troll or fascist sucking sociopath, but your need to ignore the role of theft and play the race card is pretty weak I have to say. You seem to believe we need them more than they need us, which is strange. They are working to remedy their various softspots with Russia's help, but if you think they are suddenly going to take over high end chip production with indigenous designs I have bad news. Where would they be without IP theft? The search function here should help you discover I've been advocating passing on Chinese goods for some time now here and there, should you have the interest in researching that particular assumption anyway.

How about this? Skip the pop psyche ramblings and make better analysis, skip getting called out altogether. You prefer appeasement, we get that part. Calling Chinese censorship 'protection' also noted.

If I recall original bshole was a fairly liberal poster with a family from a northern state.

He stopped posting for quite awhile and when he came back it was either a hacked account or he’d fallen down some internet rabbit hole.

yeah, that guy used to PM me a lot and it seemed like he had a lot of questions about, I dunno, life and things. Fairly normal guy. I think maybe he was seeking a "club" to belong to or something.
It's clearly not the same person as it was before. If he wasn't hacked, then the time he took off to join his "new club" turned him into a fucking fascist bitch.

but he is posting pretty much the same abject nonsense with the same insouciance as the insect and the handful of specific Russian Bots, so it could be they are all the same hacked accounts, I guess.

Or they are simply the type of fascist bitches that we know exist in this country, and still fancy themselves "Americans" after voting for Trump. We need to disabuse such people of this notion: that they can vote for treason and the dissolution of the US and other democratic nations, champion fascist autocrats everywhere, and still call themselves patriots. These people are cancer, and need to be treated appropriately

As an eng who have dealt with a lot of asians and related (indians, japans, china, ...); i can say that some Chinese are quite good others not so good; but the thing is that while they have many competent people they tend to also be more rigid thinking and that is something that has allowed westerners to excel. You could change the word rigid to creativity if that makes you feel better. Having said this if the Republicans have their way USA schools will end up in shambles and in a generation or two be quite poor.

This. They don't teach creativity or critical thinking, which is why they aren't so great at designing and innovating. This is the utter dumbthinking of this complete nonsense called STEM and this fellating attitude we have adopted with the "Asian style" teaching methods when it comes to math and science (and I say this as a scientist).

When you remove critical thinking, creativity (called the Humanities: philosophy, rhetoric, history, etc), people don't develop the skills necessary to actually think. Outside of rote memorization of basic facts and formulas, just stamping and repeating the same designs that more capable people have already created, such people are really quite useless...but in the end it's what the STEM proponents want: SV tech types have already got theirs growing up before STEM and being "forced to do the horrible critical thinking disciplines in school," and established themselves as the new owner class--let's call them the Gen X version of the Boomers FYGM model. Now, they want today's students to simply have the capability to work on and refine the code that the sainted owner class has already given them, refine products and tools that they aren't allowed to replace--the ability to do so completely removed from their training, anyway. It's all by design.

So yeah, it's that any type of person or nationality of people make good or bad engineers, it's the mode of thinking in how the next generations of scientists and engineers and whatever are trained. We've intentionally and unambiguously removed the tools that will make them exceptional, because the private school, voucher system fascists need it to be this way to maintain their generational control over their children and grandchildren.

Interesting analysis and some of things he talked about Bakhmut and why Ukraine stayed in the city make sense to me now. By staying in Bakhmut, Ukraine was able to keep the Russians engaged from a defensive position instead of a offensive position over the winter. Ukraine got Russia to expend a lot of men and resources over the winter with very little movement in the front line.

Zelenskyy: Ukraine cannot start counteroffensive because it lacks weapons

This real?
Has NATO gotten its wish and effectively created a stalemate where Russia wins new lands and has time to regroup?
Maybe it is a fake-out to lull the Russians into some sort of complacency, but given the situation I wouldn't be so sure this isn't the ground truth.

Ukraine is going to create maximum misdirection over the next couple months about when and where their next moves are. It is also his responsibility to ask for more military aid.

It's interesting how China, Russia and Iran have formed an Axis of Evil.

We're helping Ukraine against Russia, so Russia goes to Iran and says use your backed groups to start a war against America in Syria so the United States focuses on Syria instead of focusing on Ukraine and Taiwan.

I hope for once.. we're not stupid enough to walk into a trap set by them and keep Ukraine and Taiwan as our priorities.

Do you actually have experience with modern STEM teaching in grade school? At least what I've seen, it has far more critical thinking, logic, and allegbric thinking than what I was taught in the 90s. Math was pure memorization when I was in elementary, now it's far more the theory of math. Reading is the same way, I was taught mostly reading memorization, while my first grader is not only taught phonetically but also the theory and history of the different sounds.

But that is how it is done in Russia and not the first time this war; he was given a medal for politcal reason not because he deserved one for an act of bravery or skill. Given the display by russian army/navy/airforce this 'war' I'm not sure any of them are very skillful. I mean all three of them have at the very best underperformed.

I don't want to get into this STEM stuff because I'm not familiar in enough details to comment; but the whole conversation reminded me of this class-mate in college. There was this one person (a friend actually) who was a straight A student but they couldn't not think outside the box for a dang - we did a project with them and they handled the documentation side of things while me and another friend did the design and implementation. It was a pretty cool thing actually but i'm not sure any of the kids here would appreciate it these days.
