Presumably these are for their forthcoming F-16s though if they are AIM-9X the NASAMS 3 systems can fire them too.

unfortunately the f-18 even when landing on inland runways have to more or less slam into the ground like they are on a ship, it is just the way the system is setup since if you miss the cables the landing gear is designed to bounce you back up into the air so you can keep flying and make another pass.The Aussies have ones that are super high hours. But from what I've read they're the heavy duty carrier variants that never saw a ship. So perhaps they're good for more than the "official" limit.

I think China would prefer Europe to normalize acceptance of military conquest for obvious reasons. Taiwan really lucked out in some ways here as not only will they be more militarily prepared but China is now acutely aware of how these operations can go sideways.Like I naturally assume that China is going to take Russian interests first but going to the Euros and proposing this is pretty embarrassing and not something that's going to make them take you more seriously overall.
Sort of seems like the Chinese realize that closer US/Euro (and increasingly Asian) cooperation and massive rearmament is bad for them and they thought maybe by asking nicely they could get it to stop?
