Too bad. Maybe next time Ukraine signs a peace deal with Russia, they will implement it instead of using it to buy time to not only arm up, but continue to shell ethnic Russians in the Donbass for 8 straight years:

When Zelensky ran for president, he had differentiated himself from Poroshenko by pledging to “reboot” peace negotiations with the Russian-speaking separatists in the east and “continue in the direction of the Minsk talks and head towards concluding a ceasefire”.

But soon after coming to power in 2019, Zelensky did a 180.

In an interview with the German daily Der Spiegel, published on February 9, 2023, Zelensky made it clear that he intentionally chose to sabotage Minsk.

The Ukrainian leader complained that the Minsk agreements were an unacceptable “concession”.

Zelensky recalled telling French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel that “we cannot implement it”.

“Procrastination is perfectly fine in diplomacy”, Zelensky said, explaining that he only “jumped on the train” and pretended to support Minsk in order to negotiate a prisoner swap with Russia – and give his country more time to prepare for war.

So rather then bringing peace to eastern Ukraine, the puppet government got cute and thought they could pull a fast one on Russia. Maybe next time, they will rethink being hostile toward a nuclear armed neighbor.

BTW, our government is illegally occupying a third of Syria. I’m sure you’re rooting for Al Bashar to drive the American invaders out right? Didn’t think so.

I’m not sure if you’re able to incorporate feedback, but your shitty AI keeps saying the same garbage over and over.

As someone who values peace you have to be happy about Russia’s losses here as it will make future aggression less likely, right?

@Young Grasshopper we all agree that wars of aggression are bad, right? If so you have to be super happy to see the destruction of the Russian army because that means they can’t attack their neighbors anymore. Isn’t that wonderful?

Think of how great this is - Russia’s neighbors are safe from aggression. Isn’t that what you want?

Seems Ukraine and Russia have begun talking again...

Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Galuzin listed the following:
0. Ukraine should stop fighting
1. Commit not to join the EU
2. Commit not to join NATO
3. The West should stop supporting Ukraine and supplying weapons
4. Ukraine should accept new territorial "realities"
5. Russian should be made a state language
6. Ukraine should allow Russian(controlled) church.

Zelensky advisor Mykhaylo Podolyak has responded with the following:

1. Russia withdraws troops from Ukraine
2. Russia recognizes sovereignty of all post-Soviet countries.
4. Russia extradites war criminals and those started the war
5. Russia creates a demilitarized zone
6. Russia reduces the number of long-range missiles.
7. Russia pay reparations for the damages.
8. International community convenes & discusses how to control Russian nukes.

Asking Ukraine to have Russian as a state language after this invasion is a joke. They are just not serious yet. Hope Russia won't take too much longer to realise their position (ie farked) after the upcoming Ukrainian counter offensive... assuming its successful.

President of Belarus hospitalized after meeting with Putin.. Maybe he was given some of the new and improved Earl Grey tea from Putin's private stash:

I don't see why Putin would want him dead. The Belarus military don't want to be dragged into a suicidal war, and Russia can't spare the troops to forcefully prop up a new pawn if they aren't wanted by the military. This is more likely to result in a leader who stops Russia using Belarus as a launch pad for the invasion, not one who wants to join the war directly.

I do. In the event Putin really has him poisoned, it would be to put an even more cravenly compliant leader in his place. I'm not saying this would work out well for Putin, for reasons you so rightly touch on, but Putin is desperate, and Belarus is one available wild card for him.

Yeah fair point. Lukashenko still hasn't committed the Belarusian forces, and Putin is getting desperate for another front to be opened up with fresh forces.

"Blogger Anna Alkhim got into a scandal after she posted information on her Instagram story that there were Ukrainian soldiers in certain hospitals in Dnipro who needed help. A few hours later, the Russian invaders attacked a hospital in Dnipro. After that, Alhim was accused of correcting the blow to the hospital with her stories."
This story has words "Dnipro hospitals are full of military personnel who need our help"

But who cares, right? Russia should be painted as monster and Ukraine shouldn't be never blamed. Even for strikes at Russian territories mentioned in BBC article above. Just random strikes at civilian objects without military objects nearby. Same as it was with separatist territories for many years before.

go shove yourself right back up your asshole and join your boys in their genocide campaign, you savage piece of garbage.

They bought F-35s.
After seeing the effectiveness of off multilayered air defense systems, I think we may see some more stealth aircraft sales. Too bad about hot engine exhaust.

Why the heck did the forum bring me to page 1052??? Hilarious given the poster I’m responding to.

For the sake of discussion, let's go with your idea that this was a military hospital full of wounded soldiers. With this understanding, the Russian attack on the hospital is still a war crime and the Russians who carried out the attack are war criminals.

Even if the hospital claims are accurate. How dare the country we've been invading for 9 years strike back is certainly a tone deaf take on Russia's part.

All Russia needs to do to protect it's own citizens and internationally recognized borders is pack it's shit up and leave Ukraine and return the borders to what they were before 2014.

LOL wut? Does this seem likely?

On Sunday, Ukrainian air defenses succeeded in downing 52 out of the 54 Iranian Shahed drones launched by Russia overnight. In the capital, Kyiv, the defenses managed to shoot down 40 drones, according to the city’s military administration officials.

It does - they have been very successful at shooting down Iranian drones the past 6 or 9 months. It is only recent they have become successful at shooting down russias 'super sonic' missiles. What i do expect (perhaps i'm overly optimistic)) is this war will result in the west figuring out how to shoot down the drones electronically.

The Iranian drones fly at 115 mph. They just fly up to an altitude, fly in a straight line, and then crash down an impact point. Simple and cheap, no stealth, no evasion, no low altitude.

The effectiveness comes from being cheap.

That many interceptions seems very doable. Is it a win against a $20,000 drone? Probably compared to what the drone would destroy.

Personally, I think Iranian cargo aircraft in route to Russia should have mysterious collisions with unknown objects that explode. Iranian cargo ships? Inspect every single one.
