So what is the peace plan? What is the strategy for bringing this to an end? All I see is a war of attrition UKR cannot hope to win. Whatever win means.

Russian abilities have been attrited in several spaces, the black sea fleet is mostly hiding, the cruise missile waves are uncommon and heavily intercepted, their better artillery pieces are being shot up at a high rate and their shell usage is getting lower all the time. Their tank/IFV/APC fleet is getting older all the time.

Well from the Russian perspective, they have said countless times they are open to a meaningful peace deal.

Zelensky has sign a law declaring any peace deal with Putin illegal.

Unfortunately many people in this thread don’t know how to read the room. Zelensky has had a disastrous month so far:

-Fighting with Poland over grain

-Skovakia will no longer send arms

-Counteroffensive led them to losing even more territory

-Foreign money drying up

-Majority of US no longer support funding Ukraine

-Routine firings every quarter of top officials for corruption

-Wants to cancel elections unless the US coughs up $135 million(LOL)

My guess is unless Ukraine is willing to negotiate a MEANINGFUL peace agreement(not a ceasefire or a frozen conflict), Russia is just going to continue grinding down the Ukrainian population and move in to take Russian speaking territories in Ukraine. They will for sure take Odessa. I don’t know what else they might take. Probably the 4 Oblasts west of the ones they already control like Mearsheimer said.

All Zelensky has to say is let’s get a peace deal going. I doubt anyone in central/western Ukraine gives a shit about eastern Ukraine as it’s mostly ethnic Russians who want nothing to do with Ukraine.

Its a tool not a solution. Props to you Aussies for giving Ukraine the tools. Thanks mate.
Believe it or not, it was actually the USA government that bought the systems for Ukraine. The Australian government is just being tight arsed idiots atm.

So thank you Americans... yet again

Unfortunately a meaningful peace deal with Russia is not possible as everyone knows Russia can’t be trusted to abide by its promises - all they would do is use the breathing space to put their shattered army back together and attack again. (And you would certainly find a way to blame that next attack on the west)

Russia guaranteed Ukraine’s territorial integrity, then broke their promise and invaded them in 2014. Then invaded again in 2022. If Ukraine agrees to a peace deal now Russia will simply invade again in 2030 or whatever.

Russia’s been exposed as weak now - this is the best time to inflict a decisive defeat against aggression, something I know you support - being a lover of peace and all.

Some Russians are refusing to fight; it takes 2-4 days to evac wounded and they aren't being given meaningful amounts of food or ammo. Can't blame them. If it wasn't for mines they'd all be dead or taken prisoner. The mines are only delaying their inevitable defeat, and they know it.

Unfortunately certain people in this thread don't know their ass from their elbow, can't read the room. Or current events. Russia has had a disastrous 586 days in Ukraine so far. A global joke, not just the Russian warfighter but his shitty weapons too. Imagine being stupid enough to still think Putin and Russia honor their agreements. Sad. Fascists praying for a stalemate are going to be very disappointed.

As long as they are not in office it is legal; not worse or better than hunter biden. HOWEVER one could investigate their dealings while in office and that would be a different matter.
I was kinda referring to crap like this shit, which occurred after Trump’s election.

Nope

Western military powers are running out of ammunition to give Ukraine to defend itself against Russia's full-scale invasion, the UK and Nato have warned.”

Looks like the gas station masquerading as a country, a country with the GDP of the size of Texas is doing a great job of weakening/demilitarizing a coalition of 30+ countries.

Amazing stuff.

No evidence of the claim here but it sounds perfectly plausible given what I know about the emphasis, money and manpower Ukraine is putting into drones.

Last week was an especially rough time to be Russian gun or vehicle crew sounds like.

"Between September 25 and October 2, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles hit a record 220 pieces of Russian military equipment, Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, said in a post on Telegram."

Get some!

The cope is so hard here, lol.

I have a question for you - as a lover of peace would you prefer a situation where Russia loses but there is peace or an ongoing conflict?

Euro artillery ammo stocks were quite low before the war started. All they need to do is let the contracts to the appropriate firms to make lots more, which has started to happen.

Rheinmetall alone says they can do do at least half a million shells a year easily, perhaps more. Thats also not counting all the tank and small/medium caliber stuff they can turn out.
That's not even looking at US expansions coming on over the next 6-12 months, BAE, the Bulgarians, etc.

If there is an issue with availability it's likely to be in the near short term but there are ways to patch over that like M26 rockets for example or the millions of 155mm cluster shells still in US possession.

Oh damn, I missed this one. Add this to the many ways Moscow screws their own people, how very...Russian...

Russian MoD says nyet to compensation over friendly fire injuries

I mean, not really surprising from the guys who execute their own on the spot for falling back. Plenty of Russians still trying to get normal compensation last I heard. Gotta pinch those pennies right Putin? Like writing off your dead guys as Missing instead of KIA? Can't have too much widow and family support going out over your big fuckup now can we?

China has to be pissed at Russia, as their dipshittery has basically started up the West's industrial military complex full force in a way it hasn't since Reagan, serving to replace outdated equipment, startup production lines, and also field test ideas (like consumer level drone attacks which had been discussed for awhile). All while China has been trying to saber rattle about Taiwan. Further, it highlights how you might second guess the fluff being spouted by bullshitters. Granted, with regards to China, I don't think there's as large a disparity in their bluster and their ability as Russia, but then I also knew Russia were mostly bluster after they struggled against Georgia and other former Soviet states. I was surprised that their corruption had so thoroughly rotted their military spending. Like, I think North Korea and Iran have been bullshitting less than Russia, and Iran had a papier mache F-35 knockoff.

Heh. Low ammo? You wouldn't know it by intercepted Russian phone calls. The Russians doing the fighting seem to think the Ukrainians are better armed and don't have the ammo supply issues they do. The US and Korea will figure it out until all the new production comes online, I mean that's already been happening. I'm not too terribly worried about it.

Russia is trying to talk African countries out of vintage Russian hardware, is trading food and fighter tech to NK for shells and weapons probably decades old. Meanwhile, NATO is giving Ukraine GMLRS, Excalibur, tanks, IFVs, GLSDB, DPICMS, F-16s and now ATACMS. And let's not forget Ukraine's own indigenous weapons industry turning into something of a heavy hitter, plus BAE and Rheinmetal are both opening up shop there.

You don't need to be a student of history to appreciate how Russia is fucked here, though it doesn't hurt.

Good thing the US has Stockpiled about 3 Million rounds of 155mm cluster munitions in inventory. Those 155mm DPICM shells are also dramatically more efficient at taking out Russians and require fewer shells fired.

There has been some vague gesturing from the Russians that they might consider doing an atmospheric test.

This sounds like something Medvedev thought up halfway into his second nightly bottle of vodka. Increasingly trying to saber rattle with the deterrent just makes them look even weaker.
