If Trump was President Russia never would have attacked Ukraine. Also Hamas wouldn't have attacked Israel. All the bad guys in America would have reverently become good guys out of fear and respect of Trump. I've heard that cold fusion will instantly give up its secrets that it has been withholding from humanity until we become good enough to elect Trump as president.

The aliens, waiting patiently for lord and savior Trump, will make first contact with Earth and immediately and gratefully surrender their societies and resources and technology to Trump in order to fight wokeness throughout the galaxy. Once that is accomplished, Purrgils will arrive and transport Trump to other galaxies to continue to fight wokeness throughout the entire universe.
Wait you know @sportage ‘s sister?

So apparently that missile that wrecked the air base was from 1996. Russia getting absolutely wrecked by nearly 30 year old gear the US was going to throw out. Lol. Russia really fucked up by making all these incredible claims about their weapons because it just inspired the US to design things to defeat them - and ours actually work.

They are so far outclassed here it almost makes me feel bad for them, until I remember they could stop getting blown up any time they want by just going home.

If only there were a thread about the horrors of migration one could use so they didn't shit up the Ukraine thread.

It is a bit gratifying that all the stuff we designed in the Cold War for this exact purpose actually works as intended on the recipients we had in mind at the time.

How many of those do we have to give them?

Certainly not the M39s. They could be rehabbed into M57E1s but it would take years to do that at scale and PrSM is in low rate production now and will ramp over the next couple years to 400 units annually.
I think that pretty much means now is the time to use them, eh?

So, how does the supply train from NK and China get broken?
It doesn't. Asia is largely united in helping Russia kill Europeans / Westerners.
We must 1: Massively increase our arms production.
2: Separate our economic ties from our enemy.
3: Fight tooth and claw for influence with the rest of the planet.

We may have been born into a time of peace and money, but now is a time of war and blood.

Order of magnitude, maybe 500-1000 in storage, not sure exactly how many were modernized. 1650 produced, about 400 used in Iraq, at least a couple hundred were to be modernized to M57E1 at one point I think.

This is why claims of "we're spending too much on Ukraine" ring hollow. We're literally giving them stuff developed between the 80s and 90s that is just rotting away, destined to either be scrapped or refurbished. It is only in the act of giving that we then attach a price tag.

Finally we get to see ATACMS join the chat, about time.

30 year old missiles ignore Russian AD, toast 9 helicopters. Haha! A fitting entrance, gotta love the wailing and gnashing of teeth that's in progress over this.

I completely agree. For a lot of this gear we might even be saving money as now we don’t have to maintain it.

We are. It costs money to store, maintain, and dispose of all military assets. There's a reason why when we bugged out of downrange camps we just thermited a ton of shit rather than extract it.

Giving Ukraine expired or nearly expired ATACMS missiles to fire at the Russians is likely cheaper than paying to dismantle and dispose of them. And they get to fulfill their purpose for existing.

Bonus is the book value is likely pretty low so making the drawdown authority cash last.

why do you fuckers have to get into NY city issues/housing/migrants in every fucking thread around here? Can you just keep that shit elsewhere? It's fucking annoying.

Why do you fuckers not get sarcasm?

When sentences start with a "but" as in..

but her emails..

it's generally saracasm.

And I fucking put BUT TWICE and put cartoons too rather than a wall of text!

Russia, China, India, North Korea, the 'stans.
Take a guess what percentage of the world population that is. Let alone mainland Asia.

What started in Ukraine does not end in Ukraine. It spreads to the Middle East with Iran and its multiple allied nations.
It will spread to China attacking Taiwan.

This is World War 3.

It's a sizeable chunk to lose in one op, especially when you're a broke ass paper bear who can't replace air frames easily or quickly.

They also got an AD battery, a warehouse full of ammo and screwed up a bunch of runway tarmac. Nicely done all around really.

As far as the cost/risk to results ratio goes, yeah, cheering is warranted. As others have mentioned, it literally saved us money while killing Russians. To hear them talking about ATACMS sounds like they have another NATO demon to loathe and fear now. Reminds me of their initial reactions to HIMARS and Excalibur.

I'd like to see the break down on what choppers were hit. Fingers crossed most were LMUR packin Ka-52s, not just a bunch of Mi-8s.

This.

It's also like the $20B price tag that's always being thrown around by Rs to describe all the hardware left behind in Afghanistan. No, the Taliban didn't get #20B in equipment, that's how much we spent on equipment over the 20 years we were there. The way I described it to one guy: "How many 20-year-old cars do you see on the road? And how many of those spent 20 years driving around in an active war zone?"
