Erdogan buying the S-400s and getting booted from the F-35 program was probably his dumbest decision ever and he would likely not disagree. Transferring their 4 batteries to Ukraine to get back in and just go buy a few Patriot batteries, FMF financed of course, would be a pretty good deal. Especially considering getting any more from Russia or missile refills if needed is basically impossible for the foreseeable future, it's a dead end system for Turkey.

Well thats taken a lot longer than I would have preferred but this is a very important capability.

All occupied territories except the lower 2/3rds of Crimea in range.

Are the republicans going crazy over this since no additional funds have been allocated for Ukraine ?

Nah this is already paid for from USAI months ago. Ukraine will be receiving stuff we contracted for over at least the next couple years apart from defense department drawdowns.

I figure Biden gives the border deal another month and starts making his own moves to continue drawdowns for Ukraine.

To reach max range they need to be dropped from high altitude, right? That risks the planes. Or are these the SDB with the rocket motors?

Are they getting many GLSDB's? Like thousands or tens of thousands?

A quantity was not specified but the headline number on the package it was included in was 2.2B. I'd be curious to know how many Boeing can make per month which I have not seen revealed. Also if it was integrated to the M270/M142 or if there is a bespoke launcher involved for now. So still some questions.

I googled and GLSDB is considered 'low cost' at $40k a pop. Maybe its significantly cheaper in large numbers but I was hoping for something like $1k so Ukraine can really plaster the battlefield.

To be fair the only congress critters that is obstructing is the hardcore MAGA faction and that faction, per Trumps social media, is 100% team Russia.

So you should probably treat *them* as the domestic * that they are.

GMLRS costs something like $100k a round and has half the range. So this isn't a bad deal.

1k is almost a freakin desktop motherboard ))

A rocket is not a bullet, has advanced sensors, computers, explosives, propellant, engine, etc... I doublt something that can hit with precision at 160km with a significant bang can be made much cheaper than that (40k). Maybe with mass production they can slash that in half, but as it is, with just thousand products per month, that's too little

Perhaps 24 initially with more to follow. Apparently this isn't a high-volume item, maybe it will end up being.

Without more information about Boeing's production ramp for this item everything is speculation. Assuming its fielding is successful there are likely to be a lot of customers who don't like GMLRS-ER's cost but want the range

I work in drug manufacturing and it costs $30k just for the water to wash ONE of our tanks. $40k is the hi-tech equivalent of wastewater 😂

NATO does not appear to have much when it comes to full scale war planning and production. Which makes sense, we never expected to fight this war without going nuclear. Yet here we are.
Ukraine needs more than is provided to survive, as ammo at the frontlines is running thin. If that happens, death will surely follow and spread towards the Polish border.
By reports from Ukraine, our betrayal of them is almost complete.

'We'll Fight Until We're Dead': With Dwindling Ammunition, Ukrainian Soldiers Defend Their Gains

With a $61 billion package of mostly military aid stymied in the U.S. Congress and questions looming over future EU aid, it's unclear when those resources might come -- if they ever do.

While I absolutely agree with you that more aid to Ukraine should have been sent months ago the US clearly planned to fight this war without going nuclear. We could destroy Russia's army with one arm tied behind our back.
