I guess a longer loitering capability would be the one defining difference between an underwater drone and a torpedo. Otherwise they both have similar designs, propulsion, power, communication and payload systems.

What does an undersea drone look like thats not a torpedo? Only thing i can envision is smaller, cheaper fish for targeting smaller ships. Anything for a warship is going to be a normal torp.
And those would target smaller ships like merchant-size, or frigates/corvettes?They have those tiny torpedo's on surface ships like the Mark - 54 which is only 12.75 inches in diameter and 106.9 inchs long and only weighs 608 lbs. as compared to a Mark - 48 Torpedo 21 inches in diameter, 19 feet long and weighs 3,434 lbs.
