So that pilot that I said probably shot his crew, Kuzminov? According to him he tried to talk his crew into defecting too, trusted they'd leave him alone while flying as he was the only one who could fly. Kinda ballsy. Planned it over 6 months.

"I was calming the guys down I told them everything was fine, that good people live here and everything will be great. But they started to get scared and behave themselves a bit aggressively, and they ran from the helicopter towards the border,” Reception party supposedly gave them the option to surrender, but when they didn't...

“There are no fascists or Nazis here… What is happening now is just a genocide of the Ukrainian people,” Kuzminov said in a video released this week by Ukrainian intelligence. “Nobody wants this war. When Ukraine will win is just a question of time,” he said.

He wants to join the Ukrainian AF and help. Respect. I wonder if he got paid for the chopper

This guy is now dead:

A Russian helicopter pilot who defected to Ukraine last year in a secret operation has been found dead in Spain, according to the main military intelligence agency in Kyiv.
Reports in Russian and Spanish media on Monday said Maksim Kuzminov was found dead after allegedly moving to the town of Villajoyosa in Alicante on the Mediterranean coast, in an area popular with holidaymakers. His body was discovered last Tuesday, it was said, on the car park ramp underneath an apartment block.

Dude had his friends murdered, and collected a 500k check. Hope it was worth it ‘Maskim’.

From your article:

"Some Russian commentators close to the Russia’s defence ministry claimed reports about Kuzminov’s killing were planted by Ukraine’s intelligence services to fake the pilot’s death."

Grats, 'hopper, for posting an article highlighting shitty people in positions of power bandying about shitty conspiracy theories about their own shitty extra-judicial murders.

You got yourself a real turdfecta!

I feel bad for the guy but he did the world a favor by killing a few more orcs.

As a lover of peace think of it this way - those orcs he killed are two fewer orcs to start a new war with. Aren’t you happy?

I don't feel bad for the guy.. he had a few months in Spain before meeting his maker vs just meeting his maker in a meatgrinder.

Seems he was the smart one!

I keep thinking about that House finale.. what do you wanna do before it's time? Ride bikes!

I feel bad for him as he killed some orcs and anyone who does that is just helping the rest of us out.

Every one of those degenerates that someone kills is one fewer the rest of us will have to kill later.

More stuff from the Nordics!

More stuff from Canada!

Today, the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, announced that Canada will donate more than 800 SkyRanger R70 multi-mission Unmanned Aerial Systems to Ukraine.

The more than 800 drones, sourced from Teledyne FLIR in Waterloo, Ontario, have automated and autonomous navigation systems, enabling them to carry various camera systems and payloads to detect and identify targets. These capabilities will help Ukrainian operators to recognize individuals, vehicles and any heat source from a long distance, especially in dark conditions and poor weather. This multi-rotor drone is one of the best of its kind in the world, and can handle a variety of payloads up to 3.5 kilograms, including munitions.

The real question is how many earth shattering orgasms did that story give you? Russians murdering people is something you seem to approve of wholeheartedly.

I don't know if it's true or not, will wait to see confirmation. I can say that Ukraine has exposed Russian plots by staging assassinations before, but I'm glad it's been chewing on you this long while. If Unit 29155 was looking for me, I might fake my death. Just sayin.

After 2 years of watching Russians abandon, rob, abuse and murder civilians and comrades both, plus your cheerleading of it, it's just far too late to try and sound principled. Your lack of any principles or integrity, your contempt for facts, it's all one big joke here actually. I thought you knew?

But speaking of people that might be dead, how's that search for Gerasimov coming along? You guys find your Chief of The General Staff yet? Or was it just parts of him? I think whatever check was involved for that missile strike was probably worth it. Ukraine already has a pile of dead Russian generals, but this one could be the most consequential harvest yet, no?

I can't imagin your anguish, given the concern about losing Mi-8 pilots.

While sucks for the individual involved, Russians are still out of 1 helicopter and 3 crew while the Ukrainians gained 1 helicopter. Not a bad deal for $500K.

Ukraine had plenty of weapons during the battle of Bakhmut. Still lost. Going to blame Trump for that one too? You can give them unlimited arms. It won’t translate to getting any territory back.

Time to wrap this thing up boys before Ukraine loses Odessa and Kiev.

You really should enlist with Putin's Pirates and get some idea about strategy and tactics. The AFU killed thousands upon thousands of your friends and relatives from Russia while destroying and capturing Russian hardware almost 10 to 1 for some useless land that's not ever going to be a part of Russia. Now if you want to brag some more about capturing Bakhmut the way you did, let me help you out by telling you that all you're doing is showing everyone how ignorant and clueless you are about who is actually winning this three day war your dictator started and the fact that he doesn't seem able to finish it.

(CNN) — Russia is entering its third year of war in Ukraine with an unprecedented amount of cash in government coffers, bolstered by a record $37 billion of crude oil sales to India last year, according to new analysis, which concludes that some of the crude was refined by India and then exported to the United States as oil products worth more than $1 billion.

So let me get this straight. Russia has an ‘unprecedented’ amount of cash on hand due to Russian oil sales to India. India then refines that oil and sells it back to the United States? Am I reading that right? How does it feel to financially supporting Putin guys?

You can’t make this stuff up.

US is an net exporter of oil based products, so it was probably just low quality shit they see no value in producing domestically.

Must suck to be the new Venezuela, your military is just as useless....

The US is part of the global oil market. The US exports more oil than they import. Once Russian oil get's to a third party country like India there is really no way to control where that oil might wind-up. Especially once it is refined into a finished product.

Something stinks in Poland.
They must have nearly as many useful idiots serving Russia as the United States does.
This sort of effort to blockade Ukraine helps Russia prepare the battlefield.

If Democracies cannot deal with their own people, they will be easy pickings for Vlad the Butcher.
Thanks to this effort, someday the Poles may know what it is like to be Ukrainian. Then the (few) survivors will speak Russian again.

At which point do you feel you got fucked up? Post 40 with no prospects? Late onset incelism? Forgot to create a family that would love you back? You know, it’s like growing a cocaine addiction in your 50ies, its just not cool. Life passed you by. Noone cares. Shut the fuck up and die in silence. Please.

It's a sticky situation, those farmers vote. People sympathizing with the plight of the farmers vote. Politicians like to get votes.

Ukraine plans to ramp up container service to/from the Danube ports via Romania to further avoid overland shipments.

https://maritime-executive.com/arti...d-container-shipping-service-for-danube-ports

It would be nice if they could get the major container lines to service the Black Sea ports again. The Russians don't appear interested at all in interdicting the traffic due to their own vulnerability.

I wonder how much is due to insurance companies not wanting to take the risk? I'm sure the container lines would love to be making more money.

Russia was not prepared to lose their fleet to drones.
We won't be either.
Shipping cannot (always) be protected and the danger to ships is only going to increase.
