What cranks me though is that it'll be all but impossible for the UN to act in any way when the target has Veto power. That has to change, but even if it does, China still would.

Well, maybe NATO should start flexing. I mean what is Russia going to do about it? Go MAD and destroy themselves? Same with China. Now that The Vlad has been so kind as to define the cards, you can probably press conventional kinetic warfare way past Russias borders with no nuke in sight.

I think those M code upgrades may have happened. Was watching a Denis Davydod video about the surge of strikes happening in Crimea last night. Locations, results, and then he froze an image right before impact, near Vovchansk...

SDB ahoy!

Get some!

They really need to find a good fix for the glide bomb problem. How far from the front line is Russia launching those bombs ?

Not sure, but they have a range of about 70km.

Patriot can smack them down before the drop, if the timing is right. AFU needs to hit the airbases though. ATACMS, SF teams with MANPADS, drones, whatever. Maybe we'll even see F-16s doing low level strikes and intercepts someday. Better jamming might help them be less accurate, but they need to be a lot less accurate when you're talking the big ones. Being off by 20m won't cut it, needs to be more like 200m, or better.

I think we know one thing by now.. Putin and Russia won't give up in Ukraine. They're up for a 100 year war.

The only question is.. are we?
Russia doesn't have 100 years. They are suffering a demographic implosion as it is - add the deaths of many young men from the war to that equation and it's going to be worse.

And when Russia is just lobbing them at cities, 200m off doesn't matter either.

60-80km from a vague recollection. I could be wrong in either direction.

I am reaaaly curious if Ukraine stockpiled a lot of these drones or they are producing them at this rate... If the latter, Crimeea has fallen already, it's just a time problem...

The Ukraine Russian war has really opened up my eye to what drones can do. It's really changed my outlook on modern warfare. A small country armed with enough drones can do a heavy number on a larger army.

Land attack missiles doing the BSF dirty instead of ASMs was not originally on my bingo card for this war but hey.

If KSP has taught me anything, it's that your target for 'object with thrust' can be pretty arbitrary given sufficient delta-v and some maneuvering fins.

It seems Russia may have earned another submarine, courtesy of ATACMS.

*tweaker2 now known as trenchfoot* - Putin does not dabble with the cost of lives and hardware when it comes to restoring His empire to its former glory, especially when he's going to be the guy getting wealth and power beyond all of his freakish dreams of grandeur (sort'a reminds you of an orange tinted turd back here at home doesn't it?). I guess so long as he's not personally paying for his war against his neighbors and it's not any of his children dying like those mobiks he thinks nothing of getting killed for his cause, it's all good. He'll drain Russia's blood dry and then wring it out some more before he calls it quits and scurries off to one of his dachas in South America or wherever.

I think they'd have better strategic targets than what's left of the black sea fleet, but I'll take it.

You can be sure the Pentagon is paying attention to all of the lessons of this war.

It's under the radar but they are spending heavily to deploy lots of new stuff just for this purpose

Defense industry: What CUAS solutions would you like? Programmable ammo? Lasers? EW? Microwave? Coyote missiles? Stingers? Hellfires?

US military: Yes.

Zeihan has made this assessment multiple times now that either way, either this war extends into a NATO country or into Russia proper - at which point a nuke is going to fly.

Inevitable that a nuke is going to fly.

How does that not turn into MAD? Sounds like a doomsday prophecy to me.
