And what do they fire them from? There are significant path differences here.

Buying foreign, even from a friendly allied nation, missiles is something the military has always been pretty resistant to. We always roll our own. Both purchases are a substantial departure.

Well not always, as Have Nap and NSM/JSM can attest. Army just bought Spike NLOS too. DoD still kinda frowns on it, but that is changing and sometimes stop gap measures are just necessary. And that's what NSM is, something to hold us over until LRASM finishes it's rollout. There was a time when our Navy wouldn't even consider sailing ships of foreign design, but look at our new Italian frigate program. The times, they are a changin.

Anyway, I was talking more about the different certification hoops involved between testing NSM and an air launched missile.

Let's not

Late, overweight, and down to less than 15% commonality with FREMM which was supposed to save money and time.

I didn't say I was happy with it. Least it ain't the LCS

According to Tommy Tuberville Putin does not want Ukraine anyway, he has enough land.

Tuberville says Putin has only wanted peace all along but the U.S. wants war: “He dudn’t want Ukraine. He dudn’t want Europe. Hell, he’s got enough land of his own. He just wants to make sure he does not have US weapons in Ukraine.”

In fact, he kind of makes it sounds like it is our fault "He just wants to make sure he does not have United States weapons in Ukraine pointed at Moscow"

Russia is nationalising assets in the captured territories of Ukraine. They can't sell bonds (noone wants then even at 14%) and they are kinda getting needy for revenue. But who would buy them?

Putin just raised taxes on companies and the wealthy too, something that hasn't happened in a long time. Clearly Russia is doin just swell.

Don't mind Vlad over there, blowing 40% of his budget and 6% of GDP to feed a dogshit military into a plastic shredder. Great success

Tuberville: Ted Cruz without the stint at Princeton. He'd be on my short list of repugs being paid or blackmailed by the Russians. Always finds a way to be as pro Russia as Rand Paul, who like Trump is an actual Russian asset.

An asshat ex coach with an IQ interchangeable with his waist size, as clueless about foreign policy and the military as he is with any domestic issue.

The hardships and stress he alone has inflicted on enlisted women and families is damn near criminal, to say nothing of his support for insurrection and treason. He doesn't even live in Alabama does he? Fuck that guy.

A quick comparison.

November 1939, Germany invades Poland. By Mid-42, roughly the same 2 1/2 year time span, the Axis had lost much of what it had taken across Europe, Asia and Africa and was on the brink of defeat.

Putty hasn't even taken one much lighter armed country and has lost most of that.

Russian BTR with a bunch of troops on top has a very close encounter with Ukrainian M2 Bradley.

That was a loss for both sides.

This is an accidental encounter for the Bradley. It is disabled shortly after, the crew bails, and then destroyed by Russian artillery fire. The crew makes it back to friendly lines.

The Russian BTR's few remaining infantry takes their objective, but after losing all the equipment and most of the Russians with the BTR it can hardly be called a victory.

Well he was a moronic football coach what do you expect. The reason Ukraine is not a member of NATO was to appease Russia. We see how well that worked out. Of course then we get these shitheads in congress who get there via Russian $$$; to spit out Russian lies. They should be arrested and tried as traitors.
