That was partly what I was thinking when I heard about the "3 way" deal they were talking about. NATO status aside, Poland is more likely to be retaliated against if the jets leave from there into the battle space, than if they take off from Ramstein which is NATO air HQ and a direct confrontation with the US.

It would still be seen as hostile flights originating from Poland/NATO. To me, the logistics of getting them over the border is probably the biggest issue.

At some point in between that a TB2/territorial defense squad smokes a tank or a fuel truck a hundred feet from you sitting bumper to bumper. Then you elect to run into the forest. Supply train is likely where the bulk of the conscripts are so they're going to bolt at the first sign of trouble.

Given Zelenskyy's slide in popularity in Ukraine (from 76% at time of election to roughly 23% just prior to the invasion) it sure looks like Putin sure made a blunder by invading. He most likely could have keep his conscripts camped on the border for another month or two and the Zelenskyy government would have imploded, giving Putin the perfect opportunity to install a puppet government and then later rush to aid of his Ukrainian allies if need be. I guess Putin has forgotten his KGB roots.

Some potential issues, I don't know the real bottleneck but could be many:
1) How many missiles/bombs do they have available for those drones? Several ammunition depots have been bombed / shelled.
2) They carry maximum of 2 weapons per sortie, they fly slow, and need a ground team to refuel/rearm.
3) Russians have tons of AA defense, that if properly deployed, can track and kill drones. (Stunning amount of this capability is not active, but that's another whole interesting issue)
4) How many command/control centers do they have for these drones? At least one command/communications bunker was admitted to have been bombed.

I don't really get why people are asking this question. Ukraine is very aware of the convoy and would very much like to blow it all up. If they have not done so yet, there's probably a reason.

People make mistakes in wars constantly and maybe there's some way Ukraine could attack this convoy that they haven't used yet but I promise everyone whatever the reason is it's not that they haven't thought of destroying it.
