Rumors Russians have rigged a nuclear plant with explosives, and are threatening to detonate if they can’t hold the plant.

If this is true, NATO needs to make it very clear this will start MAD and every city in Russia will be turned to glass within 30 minutes.Rumors Russians have rigged a nuclear plant with explosives, and are threatening to detonate if they can’t hold the plant.

Also don't see how this isn't the final nail in the coffin for traditional nuclear power. It is obvious Russians are too stupid and immature to handle the responsibility that comes with operating these plants.
Don't even need to go that far. Just promise them that in the event they blow the plant NATO will retaliate with the full range of conventional assets at its disposal. The Russian military, or what's left of it, wouldn't last a week.
Tempting just to completely agree but the issue is that all this would do is delay the full nuclear-exchange that ends the human race not prevent it.
As soon as it became clear Russia was going to lose a conventional war the nukes would fly.
Don't forget the first letter of MAD stands for "mutually".
The claymores suggest that the U.S. is acknowledging that the high tech stuff can damage the Russians but it's going to take a long slog through the mud to drive them out.Next US, and largest to date, military aid package:
Bit more detail. Wonder which mortar system we are supplying M120s or the surplus M327s from the Marines
Putin would almost certainly likely be assassinated if he tried to order a first strike.

The Russians would just claim it was the Ukrainians, and call for an investigation, while they get political support and coverage from Russian-infiltrated "independent" international agencies.Deliberately blowing up the facility could result in massive deadly fallout in Europe and would likely be considered an act of war.
I dont think so, if the stated mission is to stop at the border, then it is what it is... what happens in Ukraine stays in Ukraine.

The Russian state media has subsequently deleted their clear message threatening nuclear terrorism from media sites ~ not supposed to admit to the criminal plans.
If the Russians are on the verge of getting their heads handed to them by NATO forces Putin will become even more desperate then he already is.
I'm not willing to bank on him being "sane" and making the wise decision based on what he's done so far are you?
Anyone care to explain to someone who clearly doesn't know what they think they know what a fucking anti-radiation missile is?
