We already knew the Russian Government did not value life. That's sort of a requirement for not being an Allied nation with us. We sort of frown on that behavior.

Main complaints cited are other NATO countries not shouldering their share of the burden (has some truth) and that Biden bad.

From Putins prospective, he's right. The only loss that matters to him is his power and money. I doubt dead soldiers ever enter the equation other than as a line item on a spread sheet.

I wouldn't be terribly upset if someone dropped a nuke on the Kremlin.

Honestly, I would not like that. I think that any use of nukes should be permanently off the table internationally. Very very bad precedent. Yes, it happened in 1945, but that should not happen again. Besides, the nukes of today make those look like firecrackers.
