NY Times is reporting that Russia is withdrawing from Lyman. That is good news. Great news if the “withdrawing” means that the forces there were actually destroyed / captured.

It has been reported since last weekend that Ukraine had any possible avenue of retreat covered by at least artillery and in many cases direct fire, so I hope the report of a withdrawal is really the destruction of the Russian forces there.

The likely fate of most Russians trying to get out of Lyman. Ukraine mined the road with rocket/tube delivered anti-tank mines, had it under active observation, and had the route zeroed for their artillery. Staying was suicide but I think Putin forbid a retreat so as to not ruin his big day in Moscow.

To continue their genocidal invasion of Europe, some parts of Russia want a full on nuclear exchange.

I doubt their public would care. Any major change in Moscow is likely to be driven by one thug replacing the current one instead of a popular uprising. Though there could be some issues in the ethnic minority regions.

More on the subject. Of how Russia's genocidal invasion of Europe is the planet's most dangerous moment thus far. The precedent the US set for nukes (in Korea) is that we are willing to lose wars before we will use them. Our nation's stance is that we cannot use nukes. Putin declared something very different yesterday.
