There are an unending supply of videos detailing what’s happening to Russian troops here and it’s rough. They will loose thousands of lives trying to capture the town. Ukraine has significant surveillance advantages with night and thermal vision so they see them coming every time. It’s like being ordered to storm trenches in WW1.

For the cost of a fraction of our yearly military expenditures we have destroyed almost the entire offensive capacity of the Russian army, which was supposed to be our closest peer. We could do this ten times over and not feel it in any significant way.

You know how when you're playing a 4x/grand strategy game and at some point you win, but it lets you keep playing? That's basically us, won the con victory a few hundred rounds ago and now we're just seeing if we can win all the other victory conditions and prep the save for the space DLC.

Yeah I doubt we had anything to do with that, just Putin being Putin, using assassination to send messages and steer outcomes. "Play ball Luka, or you're gone and your boy ain't inheriting shit"

Returning Ukrainians to the fold ain't happening, perhaps the Whites can serve as a consolation prize, end up letting Putin save what little face remains? Officially annexing them would be easier than fighting Ukrainians, would put some resources under direct control of Moscow that is tired of excuses and waiting.
