Reportedly Ukraine received a new French ATGM which basically has the same capabilities as Spike, though the latter could have been available in far greater numbers.

Glad to hear France supplying 5th gen systems, Macron didn't want it announced eh? Lots of similar bells and whistles and it's certainly a flexible and potent weapon, but Spike NLOS will reach out to 25km. Akeron LP is 5k short of that but still a fearsome, hungry looking ball of hate, and drone ready from the get go, of course. The MP is a better Javelin. Ukraine is lucky to have a shot at any of them, and they'll all make mincemeat of orcs no doubt. Ukraine has other options for AT weapons though. Options for SRBM protection? Not so much. Sketchy stuff intercepting those, I very much hope Ukraine has enough of what it takes, and in time.

In practical terms Chinese military aid to Russia will politically recast military aid to Ukraine and make it more attractive to Rs.

Agreed. Both Putin and the Repub's agendas are based on lies and half-truths so their line of distractive and disingenuous propaganda reflects their similar core ideologies and their methods of acquiring, consolidating and permanently retaining control of their respective governments.

They are also both regressive in nature, both wanting to turn back the clock to a time when they both felt more powerful and more in control of their destinies. They both exploit the religious sector of their nations claiming that they and they alone represent the religious faithful of their nations of whom by "coincidence" are the most trusting and gullible toward authoritarian leaders in and out of their churches.

When the religious leaders of both nations conspire with their governments to achieve a common goal that dehumanizes and abandons those that are outside of their spheres of influence there can never be an equitable outcome whereby ALL of the peoples of their nation's interests are represented.

I forgot who talked about it before one of the retired generals I believe. He said there would likely be an overwhelming conventual response, that would include taking out their entire surface fleet.

MAD still holds because Russia knows if we got involved, all they'd have left would be nukes and if they fling nukes at us or our troops it's all over.

The fact they haven't used nukes shows that our deterrent is working.
