Ukraine is almost certain to not do anything unless 1) attacked from Transnistria or 2) the Moldovan government requests them to officially or unofficially (this seems increasingly likely)

An unofficial request that avoids pulling Moldova itself into the war might be the most attractive. Ukraine can occupy with weak protest from the Moldovan gov until hostilities are concluded then they can take it back over.

I forgot who talked about it before one of the retired generals I believe. He said there would likely be an overwhelming conventual response, that would include taking out their entire surface fleet.

MAD still holds because Russia knows if we got involved, all they'd have left would be nukes and if they fling nukes at us or our troops it's all over.

The fact they haven't used nukes shows that our deterrent is working.
Nukes don't even makes sense in this war. There's no large concentration of troops because that will draw a missile strike from both sides. Russia can't nuke the frontlines since their troops need to push in and take the land afterwards and the winds will blow fallout towards Russian held lands or Russia itself.

This interview is really something.. really recommended:

TLDW: Don't trust the clowns in charge of the world bank and stuff because they don't research and verify, they take Russia at their word!

Nuking any major city that does not surrender would make perfect sense. Erase it and move onto the next objective.
Would devastate Ukrainian command and control, logistics, etc.

This would have already occurred had we not been on the other side.

I'll take false pretext for 500 Alex.

My best guess is that Russia is working to topple the Moldovan government and the Moldovan government is likely to enlist Ukraine's aid in making sure that doesn't happen. The Russian military in Transnistria is a threat to their state but would quickly fall apart if faced with AFU forces. Ukraine could also use the stockpiled munitions that exist there...

Would have thought the Russians would have taken any ammo there back home by now.

They have no way to get it out. Moldova won't let them and Ukraine sealed its border with Transnistra near the beginning of the war.

This a very good interview on DW News on YouTube with Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld from Yale School of Management about the BS numbers Russia produces about their current economy. Professor Jeffrey Sonnenfeld is the same person who created the list of all the companies who left or are still doing business in Russia when the war started:

**edit --Just realized @Indus posted the same link above me.

List of companies that left Russia:

"Someone" hitting Iranian weapons production looks like maybe? You generally don't hose off AA guns just because.

Can we get some of that for wherever they make Fateh and Zolfaghar missiles? Cmon Bibi!

...but the Russian state needs to keep its citizens happy (well mostly) and the war effort going.

I would say those two are somewhat mutually exclusive, but fresh meat allows the former problem to solve both.
Corpses cannot complain about happiness, and they do achieve some results on the front line.

It does.

That was probably the last barrel, with orcs still advancing.

I'm thinking burst fire discipline at some point was abandoned out of panic and a cook-off occurred which led to even more panic if that happened during an assault on the position. That being said, I question my aforementioned reason as to why the meltdown occurred as the last thing I'd think of while in the process of being overrun is to take a picture of the mess before getting the hell out of Dodge quickie quickie or get dickied. If not for the reason previously stated, might be some other reason for why the gun was allowed to destroy itself but I can't think of a logical reason why.

One Year Anniversary, some quotes roughly 3-4 days prior to invasion.

Why offer the lives of 44 million Europeans to Putin?
It is horrifically immoral to sit idly by and do nothing.
Didn't know Russia was planning such a massive genocide. Quick - go warm up the nukes! /s
Can you imagine how all of this would be going if Putin's Cockholster was still in the White House? Yikes. Good bye world order for Europe.
It's a show by Russia, Putin is bluffing, and the US is falling for it.
well then

Let's cut the to chase, K1052 posted this:
It is the entire reason for the Genocide.
To restore the USSR on the corpses of millions.

Never forget what this war is. Why it is. And never forgive.

Especially not Fucker, Fox News Clown and RT specialist.
A truly stomach churning display. So many to choose from, night after night.. but let's go with the one previously linked that mocked the notion of an invasion. It may be the least offensive pro-Russia segment he's had since.

One more to highlight the propaganda by Russia.

Imagine if peace keeping to hold the line of conflict was all that occurred. The noble goal of actual defense of others. Rather than the invasion of conquest for ethnic cleansing that actually took place. Imagine how many Ukrainians AND Russians would be alive today if anything Russia said was true, or from the goodness of their hearts, or for the betterment of mankind. Instead, all Russia really wants is to conquer other people's lands, to change borders. Death and destruction. That is what Russia is, what it has done, what it is still doing without pause or hesitation. Russia exists to kill and enslave.

That is what those who opposed a call for Peace at the UN have sided with. Not the PR tweet, but the reality on the ground. Remember the names of the nations and the people who endorse this mockery. Who protect Russia's efforts to colonize. This is a war for civilization against the evil of mankind. Will we stand unwavering for the defense of others? We need to do better, we need to do more. This test of humanity is far from over.

U.S. could face possible weapons shortage as it continues to supply military aid to Ukraine, war game shows

couple of key items, the stockpile is getting low:
- Cancian said Ukraine's use of artillery shells far outstrips the Pentagon's capacity to make them.
They're using about as much in a month as we produced in the year
- Precision-fired munitions for the long-range HIMARS system are another need

And with the U.S. struggling to keep Ukraine supplied in its fight against a decrepit Russian military, there is concern about what could happen if the U.S. were to become involved in a conflict with China. CSIS recently conducted a war game that showed that the U.S. would run out of a key weapon — Long Range Anti Ship Missiles (LRASM) — while trying to stop a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

"The U.S. ran out of these missiles in the first few days of the war," Cancian said of the war game.

The 2nd part of the article concerning china is misleading.
Sure the US might run out of LRasm in a few days but we also have lots of harpoons.
It's 1/2 the range of the LRasm (75 miles vs 150) but should still be effective.

Now with China strengthening ties with Russia, I see China bring more militarily aggressive towards Taiwan.
At minimum to distract US from Ukr and best case scenario to take Taiwan with minimum loses.

I hope China doesn't attack.
That could be WW III.
Russia/China/n Korea vs Europe/US/s Korea/Japan

If China decides to invade Taiwan we will know it well ahead of time, just as we did with Russia. It would not be possible to hide that sort of buildup.

The entire world should have launched a full scale offensive against Russia and China and made them democratic before they acquired nuclear capability. Now they are just going to mess with the rest of the world with the resources they have amassed during the years of "peace". It was a huge mistake to leave such huge populations under the rule of tyrants.

It is high time that the UN membership of these countries is challenged and they be kicked out and considered implicitly hostile to humanity's continued progress and peaceful co-existence.

So basically launch WW3 right after wrapping up WW2? I’m going to say that’s a bad idea.
