what little googling I've done says noI thought we already saw T-34s in the battle field ?
Nukes don't even makes sense in this war. There's no large concentration of troops because that will draw a missile strike from both sides. Russia can't nuke the frontlines since their troops need to push in and take the land afterwards and the winds will blow fallout towards Russian held lands or Russia itself.I forgot who talked about it before one of the retired generals I believe. He said there would likely be an overwhelming conventual response, that would include taking out their entire surface fleet.
MAD still holds because Russia knows if we got involved, all they'd have left would be nukes and if they fling nukes at us or our troops it's all over.
The fact they haven't used nukes shows that our deterrent is working.

I'll take false pretext for 500 Alex.Ukraine is almost certain to not do anything unless 1) attacked from Transnistria or 2) the Moldovan government requests them to officially or unofficially (this seems increasingly likely)
An unofficial request that avoids pulling Moldova itself into the war might be the most attractive. Ukraine can occupy with weak protest from the Moldovan gov until hostilities are concluded then they can take it back over.

Would have thought the Russians would have taken any ammo there back home by now.Ukraine could also use the stockpiled munitions that exist there...

...but the Russian state needs to keep its citizens happy (well mostly) and the war effort going.
It does.
That was probably the last barrel, with orcs still advancing.
I think they are still dependent on Russia on cheap oil and gas. They haven't transitioned away. The Modi government is mired in some nasty internal politics atm in multiple fronts, so they really don't want to rock the boat with its citizens.India has shown me who they are this past year.
Why offer the lives of 44 million Europeans to Putin?
It is horrifically immoral to sit idly by and do nothing.
Didn't know Russia was planning such a massive genocide. Quick - go warm up the nukes! /s
Can you imagine how all of this would be going if Putin's Cockholster was still in the White House? Yikes. Good bye world order for Europe.
It's a show by Russia, Putin is bluffing, and the US is falling for it.
well then
If China decides to invade Taiwan we will know it well ahead of time, just as we did with Russia. It would not be possible to hide that sort of buildup.U.S. could face possible weapons shortage as it continues to supply military aid to Ukraine, war game shows
U.S. could face possible weapons shortage as it continues to supply military aid to Ukraine, war game shows
A recent war game showed that the U.S. would run out of a key weapon while trying to stop a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.www.cbsnews.com
couple of key items, the stockpile is getting low:
- Cancian said Ukraine's use of artillery shells far outstrips the Pentagon's capacity to make them.
They're using about as much in a month as we produced in the year
- Precision-fired munitions for the long-range HIMARS system are another need
And with the U.S. struggling to keep Ukraine supplied in its fight against a decrepit Russian military, there is concern about what could happen if the U.S. were to become involved in a conflict with China. CSIS recently conducted a war game that showed that the U.S. would run out of a key weapon — Long Range Anti Ship Missiles (LRASM) — while trying to stop a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.
"The U.S. ran out of these missiles in the first few days of the war," Cancian said of the war game.
The 2nd part of the article concerning china is misleading.
Sure the US might run out of LRasm in a few days but we also have lots of harpoons.
It's 1/2 the range of the LRasm (75 miles vs 150) but should still be effective.
Now with China strengthening ties with Russia, I see China bring more militarily aggressive towards Taiwan.
At minimum to distract US from Ukr and best case scenario to take Taiwan with minimum loses.
I hope China doesn't attack.
That could be WW III.
Russia/China/n Korea vs Europe/US/s Korea/Japan
So basically launch WW3 right after wrapping up WW2? I’m going to say that’s a bad idea. The entire world should have launched a full scale offensive against Russia and China and made them democratic before they acquired nuclear capability. Now they are just going to mess with the rest of the world with the resources they have amassed during the years of "peace". It was a huge mistake to leave such huge populations under the rule of tyrants.
It is high time that the UN membership of these countries is challenged and they be kicked out and considered implicitly hostile to humanity's continued progress and peaceful co-existence.
