after the rusi report on US parts still being sold/used by russia, i was assuming it was limited to commodity electronic parts sold by the 100,000s or millions where it is hard to track who the distributor-middleman is sending the odd 10k.
but it looks like some companies are still selling/shipping direct to rus.

there really needs to be a crackdown, especially for something as simple as direct shipments.

So much for export controls. It's an extremely sensitive subject for me. I got in trouble with my company (SWS Dept director) for talking directly to my British counterparts about a procedure for testing a tape drive in a system for recording strategic weapons data which my company manufactured for submarines in both countries using the same system for the most part. It was only because I did not use my designated interface (retired ex Trident CO) to relay this info.

I think the only reason this happened, and I believe it to this day, is because he (dept director) put out bum dope and I corrected his misinformation.

I think the problem was that the British security stuff is different from American so we can't share information directly since it is all classified using two different classified systems. Bureaucratic bull hocky. I remember a co-worker telling me that his boss would would give him a hard time over the papers he wrote (I forgot the reason as it was some years ago but the reason was fairly petty); but since he held a higher level of security clearance than his boss he just classified the papers so his boss couldn't review them...
