Edit: and just as a side note, Russians have had officer losses roughly approaching the equivalent of the entire senior command structure over 4 divisions (albeit the losses actually spread over 10+ divisions). Hard to believe that happens without something approaching proportionate casualties - i.e. approaching 40k.

The Ukrainian punk band Beton released a version of the Clash's "London Calling" entitled "Kyiv Calling".

The cover, which describes Ukrainian resistance to the Russian invasion, is called "Kyiv Calling" and calls for global support for Ukraine. "Kyiv calling to the whole world / Come out of neutrality, you boys and girls,"

The song was released with the blessing of the Clash who also linked the Youtube video on its Twitter account.

I don't know how Ukr could ever agree to demilitarization.

They agree to that, Putin retreats, licks his wounds, and better prepares to come in again and finish the job.

They can't count on the West to protect them, not fully. They have to be self reliant, but they will have a destroyed country to rebuild.

My fear is that as Russia finds itself increasingly desperate for a victory, they might decide to nuke a Ukrainian city or two. The american did it with Japan and it arguably ended the war.

So then what?

There should be signals from the west indicating we will consider any nuclear weapon use in Ukraine as an attack on NATO requireing full retaliatory response.
