Well, maybe if you ignore the reports of discrimination at their borders. Don't forget, Poland has been drifting toward right-wing white nationalism as fast as anyone else.
Yeah, I saw one story on TV about people of color experiencing very serious discrimination in their refugee travails. As if what they have suffered weren't enough, argh!

I hope there can be a few hundred swithblade-like drones a day deployed sooner rather than later, and if there are already then double them. A drone war 24/7 could change the situation. Brutal for anyone in or near a vehicle of any damn kind, or foxhole exposed to the sky once the bigger stuff is gone. Bullets may be cheap but the people firing them are expensive.

Happening as we speak from what I've read ..... it will be hundred'S of drones of all kinds. Only 100 actual Switchblades though.

I think some people might be getting a bit overoptimistic.

As excellent as Ukraine's been at holding off the Russians, they're still outnumbered and outgunned. They've also had the advantage of defending for most of the invasion. Their counterattacks have gained ground, but pushing the Russians out of the country will be a big undertaking, especially in the separatists areas which have basically devolved into trench warfare. I also haven't seen much of Ukraine's armored and mechanized brigades, which would be important for any rapid offensive, and get the feeling they might've taken a beating blunting the initial Russian attack. Retaking Crimea and all else might be too much of a stretch.

I hope I'm wrong, though.

Realistically they're not getting Crimea back. They don't have the offensive capability for that. Limiting what the Russians take in Donbas and pushing them out of the south, mostly by again making a total mess of their logistics, seems achievable. Even if the Russians entirely pull out of the lines in the north and west the resources to keep advancing on the other fronts are still quite considerable. Meanwhile there is no real limit as to Ukraine's resupply from US/EU.

Yea, that demented man, spoke for at least 15 minutes extemporaneously i.e. no notes or teleprompter to our troops deployed in Poland this morning. Yet, he had no political grievances to salt into that talk. How disappointing.
I think he likes his job!

you mean first past the post?

We have that in Canada and have 3 main parties and 2 not so main parties.
Yeah, it 'can' work if you can get past the hump of 3 parties. If you start at two though, it's very hard to get past 3. 3 parties with FPTP devolves into one party getting 50% of the votes, and two parties getting 20-30% each.

Personally I'd like for Biden to pass the baton to a capable replacement in 2024, but I'm not sure if that's realistic.

He just might?
Harris.
I still believe there was some "funny business" going on as to how Kamala Harris became Joe's VP. I think there was a little back room deal making to hand Biden the black vote that Joe so desperately needed in exchange for his choosing #1 a female minority as VP, and #2 the promise of nomonating a black woman as supreme court justice.
So there could be a part-two of the deal yet unfulfilled to hand that baton to Harris in 2024. But this has nothing to do with Ukraine, now does it.

um...
intl weapons aid just basically doubled Ukraine's defense budget!
they are now playing Civ with unlimited weapons
And Russia just deconstructed all their manufacturing facilities to start the war. Hope they have enough units that the rest of the world runs out of weapons before they run out of units.

I agree. I hate the two party system, but it'll take massive structural changes to get rid of it. My hatred for the two party system is why I've always been a registered independent, even though I've never voted for a republican at the federal level and only once at the state level.
What makes a 2 party system inevitable in the USA without "massive structural changes?

Too hard to get past existing biases and entrenched media involvement with the two established parties. Even if two or three additional parties ran next election, without sustained efforts (billions of dollars of advertising) it'd take decades to get them to gain enough traction to actually win. If voting were changed to ranked choice, it'd probably happen a lot faster.

The phase where Russia puts in practice their CYA strategy?
Or maybe regroup and try again... this time for realz...

As many as 10 new battalion tactical groups are being generated and put into Russia's operations, especially in the Donbas.

Western officials have been concerned for some time that Russia will attempt to encircle and envelop Ukraine's best fighting units, which are stationed along the line of contact.

A thread about the presentation of the Russian generals earlier where they 'shifted goalposts';

Funny I was thinking this this morning.
Reframe the reality.

_______
As for drones, how many operators Ukraine have ? Easy to train ?.
Potentially thousands of them.

What is Russia using for bombardment ?
Ranges etc. Some from the Azov sea right? (In the east)

What is the deployment of Russian Navy in the black sea right now?

I also believe Harris has zero chance of getting elected.

The only black women I could see winning the 2024 nomination and (maybe?) the election are Michelle Obama or possibly Stacy Abrams.

Unfortunately I highly doubt either one will run.
