5.5% higher than the USA at the moment.I suspect that is what’s going on, isn’t inflation ridiculous in Russia since the sanctions?

It was news to me .^^^ I find references to that at least 10 days ago .....
Putin’s secret good Air Force spotted in Russia again.
I think NATO countries should think of reintroducing these kinds of sort range gun-based AD systems. With the proliferation of drones, it's a lot cheaper to shoot shells than missiles.

Problem right now is ammo. The Germans let their stores go down a lot. Each Gepard needs like a hundred thousands rounds. Hopefully Switzerland is over their aversion of Swiss munitions being used in Ukraine, I think they were the ones making most of it.
The good news is 35mm programmable rounds are much easier to produce than Javelins, MANPADs, etc. I'm sure they are hurrying. No one wants to use million dollar missiles to hit a drone, and the anti-drone guns sometimes have issues with range. This is what I've been wanting C-RAM set up over there since early summer.
The Swiss said no but production was secured in Norway.
Our friends at Nammo and Kongsberg? Excellent, let's go Norge.
How long until we visit the WW1/2 era airburst style AA?This is the way a lot of anti-drone and C-RAM efforts in the west are headed. Missiles are just too expensive.
Ukraine might want something like Skynex and Skyguard 3 from Rheinmetall.
The Gepards aren't a bad stopgap but they could easily use at least another hundred of them.
Dust off those Sargent York prototypes.I think NATO countries should think of reintroducing these kinds of sort range gun-based AD systems. With the proliferation of drones, it's a lot cheaper to shoot shells than missiles.
CNN is reporting claims by Ukraine that Russia is evacuating their better troops from Kherson.
I thought one of the points of the operation was to isolate and capture/destroy these troops and that the crossings were in range to be hit.
Not much news at all from Ukraine in that area, but if the civilian population and the best troops get out, they will be recapturing empty buildings that the Russians will then shell from the other side of the river.
