Russian Jihad. Aaaaaalrighty then.
Also ... that's a lot of bark for such a small dog. Tf he gonna do besides yap yap yap.

The ISW examines the meaning and the consequences behind Putin's recent words.
They are the same as Kadyrov. Total Genocide of the Ukrainian people.

So that little barking dog, is actually Russia itself. And until we USE our armed forces, there is plenty more killing that Russia can do.

They do not care how many Russians die in the process, Russia just wants to watch the world burn.

Mariupol: endless graves of people, many bodies weren’t recovered. Russians started to tear down damaged apartment blocs with bodies inside and hauled it all away, without looking for human remains. Dogs were seen carrying body parts. Estimated death toll is 87,000 - 117,000 civilians killed.

Putin dying in actual combat would *almost* be a romantic ending for that malignant schmuck.

He's too unwell for that, wasn't really his MOS either. But I can see him trying to direct an op from a command post - and that command post getting cratered by an ER GMLRS strike. Twice, for good measure.

Going out a "hero" would likely be preferable to a drawn out expiration on a bed in a bunker or Switzerland, constantly being reminded of how it was his actions that destroyed Russia's future.

I'll take any ending for him, more concerned with it happening sooner rather than later. He won't be replaced by an angel, naturally, but getting this war criminal off the board would be a win for everyone, Russians included.

These sorts of threats and boasts are just pathetic and embarrassing. The west is concerned about Russian aggression against its neighbors - it is not at all concerned about Russian aggression against western democracies themselves as we would annihilate those 10-15 million people very easily.

The only thing Russia has that the west is genuinely afraid of is nuclear weapons. Their conventional forces are a joke and the whole world knows it.

Is Putin trying to drag Xi into this mess to take heat off of Russia?

If the Chinese don't start helping him out by breaking export controls and buying a lot more fossil fuels Russian long term prospects are very poor. The problem is that Xi directly benefits from Moscow's collapsing sphere of influence and will happily scoop up the countries that fall out for his own. In short they're sucking up for help that's not coming.

Exactly. Why would Xi help prop up a nation who has been exposed as so weak and with a joke of a military, now you know they don't have much value to you as an equal. It's time to figure out how to get more control of Russia's assets and influence, not help them retain those anymore.

What 10-15 million? They struggled to mobilize 300k. The more likely scenario would be 500k marching on Moscow than attempting to cross the Polish border.

Russian soldiers on tape complaining there is no food, no training, no ammo, they pay for their own uniforms, etc. If authentic, what an embarrassment.

Agreed; and the reality may be even worse for those poor bastards.

I would like to visit Taiwan before Xi plunges the region into war. I'm irritated I never visited Hong Kong before the CCP ruined it.

I was there in '92 and it was cool as heck. Buddy and I met a couple Irish exchange students in a British pub and pretty much hung out with them the whole time. I'd never go back now, just because seeing how it's been ruined would be depressing.

It's a shame Beijing couldn't be trusted to live up to a deal. Hong Kong was like the Florida of Asia, just always kept growing. Now that Xi took over the mass exodus still continues today. From what I've heard a huge percentage of the parents with kids have relocated to Singapore, South Korea or Thailand. Hard no on Chinese controlled schools, can't say I blame them.

At the risk of not being Ukraine, I visited Hong Kong so often that I have a frequent visitor barcode that allows me to use the residents line at immigration. I have not been their since Covid started and the really big changes are only the last couple of years so I have not seen the new situation. Since the hand over, there was not much noticable changes until 5 years or so back. Now Singapore is getting much more attention as the Asia HQ for foreign companies. Honestly, Hong Kong as the gateway to China is not really needed anymore, most external companies just moved into China proper for the last 15+ years.

I visited Hong Kong once about 15 years ago and I absolutely loved it. Sad to think that place I liked so much is gone.

I visited HK about 4.5 years ago and had a great time, its a shame to see it decline but predicable. Singapore seemed like an overgrown office park and really boring by comparison. Its a fine spot for business but I wouldn't want to live there.

The best thing about Singapore that I've noticed from travel shows are the food hawkers. I would just go for two days as a layover and just eat my way through all that stuff and then leave.

And crowd sourced training...

Seems it wasn't the smartest thing to send all your trainers and training gear to the front.

I lived in Singapore for 3 years and found the city great (still find it great). Lots of things to do and plenty of local color.

I preferred Bangkok for just going out and having fun.

Taipei is pretty good as well. Tokyo I went 10+ times and not quite as good for me.

That whole area will be increasingly under the shadow of China.
