Apologies if this was already posted in the thread, but I didn't see it.
Help Ukrainians learn to speak and develop their English (and perhaps vice versa as well).

Lol, from the reddit thread:

"Here in Ireland I was selling a used MacBook cheap, the guy who came to collect was Ukrainian from Kherson, his English was a little rough so I asked which language he speaks, he said russian, so as I was helping him set up his new MacBook I asked if he would like me to set the language to “russian”, His response: “Fuck no..I speak English now!”"

OK, I am 10% ignorant on the subject, but...

Why aren't either side using radio frequency jammers to stop the drones?

EW is in use and the anti-drone guns but the front is huge and the Ukrainians have lately been aggressively gunning for all deployed Russian EW assets with Excalibur and GMLRS.

OK, but drone jammers can be suitcase sized or smaller AFAIK? They're just powerful portable radios that flood the frequencies? Wouldn't each squad carry one?

I really doubt that the Russians possess them at the scale required for this conflict. Maybe the Chinese will sell them but no guarantees that's going to work.

Most drones will probably just coast until contact if jammed anyhow. I doubt that'd even help heh.

First video of APKWS in use that I think I've seen.

What a score for BAE that was, still can't get over it. I heard those cool quad launchers built for technicals have been tested/certified for taking out class 2 drones as well, hell yeah. I wonder what types they are using, 31 flavors for that treat. I'm happy to see Ukraine make good use of it. Weapons like smarter Hydras will help make this war end, sooner rather than later.

Watch them develop their own hyperbaric version.

The stuff said is also part of the picture, but a big problem with Russian jamming is that it's not all that selective. They can jam the shit out of an area, but it jams their own guys just as much. All these modified commercial drones seem to use similar spectrum.

What would this system be used for? How does it help Ukraine over existing platforms?

Things within 8km that need to die. They are adept at destroying bunkers, moving vehicles and of course personnel (depending on the warhead obviously). Now it's been certified to take down small and medium sized drones, which is a huge help. One of the more popular anti personnel loads for it does an airburst and sprays hate in a 50m radius. It's not a 155 going off but it's nothing to sneeze at.

They are cheap and plentiful, excellent cost to bang ratio.

AGM-88 HARM say's hello Russian jammer

use lots of power
broadcast squad position to everyone
tends to attract attention

jammers are a reactive weapon, something to flip on when the subject realizes they have already been spotted. Problem is subjects typically do not realize they have been spotted in time to flip the jammer on, or the jammer itself is useless to stop the attack even if utilized.

Lastly, worst case, the jammer is a heavy piece of equipment that could be used against the squad even if not activated. Everyone has heard of the radar detector detector the police can use in some jurisdictions. All antennas have a resonant frequency, the frequency they are designed to best transmit or receive on. Sweep a signal across the frequency band, and all antennas in the area will resonate on their designed frequency and generate a weaker return response, which can be detected and located.

I am not sure if the Russian's have the tech to do it. But I know the US does.
