The ruling, said to have been directed personally by Patriarch Kirill, has been made against an anti-war priest who was convicted and fined for advocating peace.
By word and by deed, for the Russian people, peace was never an option.
Church turned terrorist state ally, run by a Putin buddy, backs invasion and gets kicked out by Zelenskyy. According to Tucker Carlson, that makes him anti christian.
Sad stuff, that a lot of American evangelicals and Russians are so similar. Killing and genocide for political or social goals is fine with most of them. It's a sickness hard to treat as both they and their leaders have an emotional attachment to being sick. The Russians lust for a return to Soviet era power and prestige the way American christofacists pine for the 50s.
Short of something dramatic changing the world, I fear the only real solutions to it are war and time. The West would prefer time, let certain generations and their hangups fade away, but Russia has insisted on war. Ironically it will be their own demographic collapse they are hastening. Oh well.
