I never thought the war would last this long and I never imagined that there would be a 1,337 page long thread in Anandtech about it. When the war started, I really believed that Ukraine would just roll over and submit and that Zelensky would flee to safety. I couldn't understand why the warriors of Snake Island would send the message "Russian warship, go fuck yourself" when they were so overmatched. I couldn't understand why Zelensky said he needs ammo, not a ride. After all, his country was going to lose quickly, right?
Yet here we are almost 2 years later, and Ukraine still stands. They still defy Russia. They sank the Russian flagship. They repelled the attack on their capitol. They obtained advanced weapons and training from the west. In many areas, they have driven back the Russian army. Their tractors have towed Russian tanks. Sunflowers grow where Russian troops have fallen. Russian jets fall from the sky.
I hope that Ukraine holds on. Not only holds on, but thrives and advance, and drive the Russians out of Ukraine. I hope the west supplies Ukraine with everything she needs. Ammo, equipment, fighter jets, technology, everything.
Slava Urkaini. Heroiam Slava.
