Sergei Medvedev, a Russian politician fled the country to neighboring Georgia after calling Putin a Monster on Russia's version of Facebook called Vkontakte. On December 31, Medvedev said: “Russia, wake up! They’re killing you! It’s horrible to realize that the monster who’s behind this is running for election again.”

I'm no serious student of history, but I'm pretty sure Georgia also has windows.

This thread is now LEET, as we've reached page 1337 of the thread.

I never thought the war would last this long and I never imagined that there would be a 1,337 page long thread in Anandtech about it. When the war started, I really believed that Ukraine would just roll over and submit and that Zelensky would flee to safety. I couldn't understand why the warriors of Snake Island would send the message "Russian warship, go fuck yourself" when they were so overmatched. I couldn't understand why Zelensky said he needs ammo, not a ride. After all, his country was going to lose quickly, right?

Yet here we are almost 2 years later, and Ukraine still stands. They still defy Russia. They sank the Russian flagship. They repelled the attack on their capitol. They obtained advanced weapons and training from the west. In many areas, they have driven back the Russian army. Their tractors have towed Russian tanks. Sunflowers grow where Russian troops have fallen. Russian jets fall from the sky.

I hope that Ukraine holds on. Not only holds on, but thrives and advance, and drive the Russians out of Ukraine. I hope the west supplies Ukraine with everything she needs. Ammo, equipment, fighter jets, technology, everything.

Slava Urkaini. Heroiam Slava.

We said.

I just hope that Trump loses the election by a landslide and takes a fair number of republicans with him. Then Joe can up the ante and help the UA give the Russian army a proper arse kicking. Europe is starting to really step up their MIC.

Ukraine interviewed the crew in the second Bradley in that T-90 fight in Avdiivka. Only two guys in it, the driver was transferred from a supply truck detachment and the commander/gunner was on his second mission ever, he apparently just got back in country from Germany a short time ago. Commander said they ran into a problem using DU ammo, were only able to get a few bursts of it off in the beginning, then switched over to HE rounds. Quite the testament to the training these guys are getting, in addition to their tenacity. A far cry from what we've seen from the Russians, with their 'heading down a road of death in single file for the 7th time' hilarity.

I see Russian propaganda trying to convince people the Bradley is worthless because it's not amphibious and I get a good laugh. Any Russian who has survived fighting one knows a hell of a lot better. Even Russian tank crews have to worry. They last longer than the BMPs and BTRs, sure, but in the end it's still going to be Bail or Die (maybe both). It's encouraging to see the Russians take such losses, while Brads are getting patched up at mobil forward repair depos that relocate, frequently.

Ukraine needs fresh 25mm DU pencils to send though.

Shit sorry gorobei, I started my post and had to hit pause, came back a time later, didn't even notice your post.

Uh oh Putin, another case of a Russian woman with Thatchers, calling you and MoD out! She pissed.

Walks right into Putin's "election" HQ, demands to have her husband back. Maria Andreyeva don't want no man with no arms and no legs. Good luck with that Maria, hope you don't get raped over it.

You can thank Grasshopper for that. Each of his posts gets a page in response.

Reading through 'hopper's posts confirms the expression about doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome is insanity defined. Well sure Trump proves on a daily basis that it works every single time with his MAGATs but that right there also proves that you can't fix stupid. Walking through Trump's growing mountain range of lies and crimes committed with their eyes and ears shut tight so as to keep worshiping him as their God given gift to the world is simply another symptom of their self-induced insanity.

How far can they go toward ignoring and excusing Trump's malevolent malfeasant anti-social behavior over the years has proven to be bottomless. That's some real scary shit right there.

The 'hopper is merely a D list understudy version of Trump.

I strongly suspect Russia simply don't have the air defense needed to protect all their weak points, and they have so many.

For Ukraine to win, they just don't have to lose.

Russia started off the war with a major advantage in the number of SAM systems they had available. Losses in the war and the need to redeploy assets to protect higher value political targets (like Moscow and Crimea) have likely left much of the country increasingly vulnerable to drone attack. Russia now has kind of the same problem Ukraine does, a ton of territory to protect from cheap aerial threats and not enough assets to fully do so. Fortunately for Ukraine a lot of the stuff they want to target also like to explode or catch on fire.

He is a useful idiot. Personally, I'd rather have people like him stirring the pot of discussion than having silence. It is important to remember that there are people in the world who believe what he believes, and they can't be moved by logic, reason, emotion, or anything else.

It also tends to be more expensive and has a greater impact on the whole economy and war effort, doubly so when taking into account Western support.

How many spotters does UKR have deep inside RU calling attention to these targets? How many of them are RU (civilian or military) people angered at Silly Putty?

Inquiring minds and all ....

It's pretty difficult to hide LNG and oil terminals.

Not so sure how many Russians would help Ukraine (and harm their country) on principal, but I'll bet there are more than a few willing to do it for cold hard cash.

You're totally outraged that Putin won't end his invasion and stop the war right? Since you're such a lover of peace and concerned about the welfare of the soldiers and all.

It’s called a peace agreement. You ever heard of one? That’s how nearly all wars end. May want to tell your boy Zelensky to get to the table before the Russians take Odessa and Kiev and thousands of more Ukrainians die in the process.

Good news is the easiest way to stop this is for Russia to stop invading Ukraine.

As a lover of peace you want Russia to leave, right?

Go tell the guy(you know the one that is doing the actual fighting instead of being an armchair keyboard warrior)that wants his leg blown off that and see if that helps him out. He’s probably slap the shit out of you.

Isn’t it amazing how an actual Ukrainian who is out there fighting this war, sides with my position instead of yours? Poor guy just wants to go home to his family, but nah, let’s keep this going so we can create a few jobs for Raytheon over here.

Disgusting.
