Pay attention. What are we talking about? Yes, the drone sub in the OP. Yes, highly automated. It's not a torpedo. Penis what?

Since we are not in the same room and can't talk with our hands there is bound to be miscommunication.

Russia is drawing pictures of a Submarine launched drone submarine capable of an upsized version of one of their torpedos capable of delivering a shitty nuke.

Manned Submarine carries baby submarine
Baby unmanned submarine because that's pedophilia
Baby submarine gets close to target and deliver massive turd bomb.

The baby sub has the range
The torpedo can do about 65mph so speed limit in in only a few states.
Payload is an area denial weapon.

However, it would never make it to target because of speed cameras in most coastal states where important assets reside.

I don't want to explain the penis thing.
My mom didn't raise me that way.

Who are you explaining all that to? Yes, I think you probably need to be in the same room with someone to carry on a simple conversation.

Preferably in a Starbucks, at that table with the people who don't belong in the neighborhood.

I didn't read the article, but when I was on a sub in the late 80's, I made my first deployment to the Med. Being a Nuke and being new, I wasn't sure of the exact details. On every high speed run, we'd have to stop and poke up our antenna for a position fix every few hours. To go fast you have to go deep too, so I just think a weapons system like this would be highly improbable. Too many things could go wrong when you consider the distance...

It's no longer the 1980s.

I browsed the article and I think, I saw that this "plan" was written up in the 50's. Knowing your location is still important in navigating the ocean, especially much tougher if under water and reportedly this device was capable of diving to 3000 ft.

Anyways it's all propaganda; show me a real working system, and then I'll be worried.

True.

But why worry? Like someone else said. You could bring a nuke into the US so easily that it's not funny. Thousands of miles of coastline. Thousands of miles of land boarders. If the Russians really wanted to have bombs in Manhattan or Chicago or L.A., then they're already there and waiting.

A warhead of up to 100 megatons could produce a tsunami up to 500m (1,650ft) high, wiping out all living things 1,500km (930 miles) deep inside US territory - Konstantin Sivkov, Russian Geopolitical Academy
