Trump said the election was rigged. Obama should have responded as broad as the allegation. Considering the investigation into the election rigging wasn't as narrow as Obama's response, he is partially to blame as well.

This could have been avoided if the allegations raised by candidate Trump were taken seriously.
Candidate Trump has never taken his own allegations seriously so how is that Obama's fault?

Other allegations we should have taken seriously I guess

Obama born in Kenya
Obama wiretapped his phone
Unemployment numbers are rigged
Obama spied on me.

How long before Trump Pardons her in the name of "international relations"? That would be just more icing on the cake. She doesn't have to testify if she's returned to Mother Russia...and he has the power to do that.

You know, I wouldn't even care if Trump did that.
I'd be damn pissed if Congresses did not impeach him over it...
Although, at this point I can just add it to the list, you know?

In rigged elections, the electoral machinery is compromised. The people who count the votes make it what they want it to be. That didn't happen in 2016. Trump, Putin & decades of corrosive GOP propaganda twiddled voters' headsets instead.

63M of my fellow Americans just made a huge mistake, that's all. They fell for a con artist. The sooner they own up to it the sooner we can set it right.

Of course Putin loves the NRA. He loves any person or organization that spreads FUD & paranoia in America. The more we're at each other's throats the weaker we are as a people & a nation. The more deadly force is involved the better, and more guns makes more of it possible.

Push it in the right direction & the stupid Americans might just start shooting at each other. The modern NRA does just that.

You might as well ask for the moon.

I think we're starting to see a lot of 'em coming around. The reality of Trump forces it upon them. It's one thing to get all charged up & take a stupid chance but entirely another to stay stupid.

Trump has shown them the POWER of never apologizing/correcting yourself.

It never gets old watching conservatives blame liberals for conservatives being shitty.

Obama could have and should have done more. That doesn’t change the fact that he would have been doing more in the face of furious opposition by conservatives. McConnell said he would come out against it as a partisan attack on our elections. Trump was already accusing Obama and the system in general as rigged against him. While it’s perfectly reasonable to criticize Obama for failing to stop this, what you’re criticizing him for failing to stop is the actions of Putin and American conservatives.

I just wish for once conservatives would own their own bad actions instead of blaming liberals for them. Liberals are not the only adults with agency in America. You can be adults too.

It's the old "somebody should have stopped me!" routine. Up next, their usual smug lecture about personal responsibility.

Nobody is asking for an apology. They just need to do better when the opportunity presents itself. Those who've figured it out can help us throw the bums out in November.

What is the price of American freedom? We are the Russian state now, and the Democratic party is worrying about how cancelling the 2016 election because it wasn't secure from psy-ops or the NRA is going to play out in the 2018 mid-terms?

That is delusional, the country is gone, look around. This is war.

There wasn't any sort of proof, afaik, and even if there was evidence that Russia was engaged in psy-ops but no proof of collusion with a candidate would there really be a legal way to postpone the election? Is there any legal way to postpone the election at all?

There's no way, nor should there be. The party in power can't be allowed to stay in power by decree. Hell- we had elections during the Civil War even thought the secessionists weren't part of it.

This is not a liberal or conservative thing. For the President, political party allegiance is a secondary consideration to national security.

Obama does not deserve criticism for failing to stop the GOP from being sh!tty in the face of unprecedented obstructionism.

He does deserve criticism for factoring his party’s candidate, and the legitimacy of her assumed inevitable win, into the equation on how he should respond to an emerging national security crisis.

Assuming there was no collusion with Russia, Trump similarly deserves considerably more criticism for obstructing our response to Russia out of fear that exposing Russia’s role would delegitimize his Presidency.

Heard on NPR yesterday afternoon:
They found in her email contact list an email account listed with an FSB domain.

If you're a Russian spy, guess that't the easiest way to stay in touch with your boss.

I would like think the former KGB would have at least taken the precautionary measure of using the super secret noreallyimnotaspy.ru email server.

Still needs perspective, I’m pretty confident her email servers did a bunch of campaign stuff too. That could simply being someone signing up for campaign spam but yes it’s sloppy to allow that.
Similar to how businesses will own a few shares of a competitor so they can request the full financial disclosures to then evaluate and see what the hell is going on with their competitor.

*off topic*

Any updates on that Trump server that used to regularly ping the Russian server?
Again could be just junk mail or room reservation confirmations or just regular business stuff. Could be something else too.
