Russky Standart Platinum Vodka

A co-worker's husband brought me back a bottle of the finest vodka in all the land when he returned from a business trip in Russia. Bottom line, this stuff is leaps and bounds better than any other Vodka that's ever touched my lips.

Anyway, I can't find anyone that will import the stuff to America.

Any ideas on how I could get my hands on some? I would probably get at least a case of it to start off on. I have a few friends who're also very very interested.

I'm working on a couple of contacts over in the U.K. to have them buy it and ship it to me... but I'd love to be able to cut out any middlemen if possible.

Yes, it's easily better than all of them. The taste is very pure. It's kind of like drinking hot water... haha. I'm not too big on drinking hard alcohol straight. I have to mix it, but with the Platinum grade, I could easily take it right out of the freezer, pour some in a glass and drink it.

Their export brand that they ship to the U.S. is called "Imperia". I was able to get a bottle and try it, but it wasn't nearly as good as Platinum. It was closer to Grey Goose.

Unfortunately... it's the original and not "Platinum", which is the higher grade.

I'll contact them directly and see if they can get Platinum, though... Thanks!

Ah yes, the classic "i cant have it so MUST have it" scenario. Let me guess you have gonads?

Simply there no way this is any better than ultra premium vodkas available. But since you cant have it, you MUST. I understand. I really do.

I definitely heard good things about this Vodka, it is a bit surprising that it's not more widely available. Be sure to only purchase from a reputable importer. There is a lot of counterfeit vodka sold in Russia, and poisoning is frequent.

Care to suggest an Ultra Premium Vodka? One that you've drank before?

Bevmo is not going to ship to you in Indiana. They only ship in CA.

edit: BTW, i was serious when i said that i understand. Im a man too. There is nothing worse than having something you desire, but cant have it. Im really thinking of women, but this concept does generalize well.

This Vodka is that good though. You gotta try it before you say it's just an infatuation with the forbidden fruit, like Cuban cigars. I have tried it, and I thought it was grat too.

I brought a couple bottles back from Russia (had about 6liters of liquor total on me, little bottles in the pockets of my coat too). Very excellent, and I think it was like $30 a bottle in duty free.
