Theo continues to say good stuff. Should be a very interesting chip. Wonder if they are going to come out with a 512bit version or if they will add more shaders before doing that?

I think AMD has realized that 512 bit is a wash for now.

I was looking forward to G92... but RV670 is sounding extremely nice. I'm already sold on RV670 if all of this true, unless G92 proves to be better.

so they're calling it 8800 gt instead of 8700 gts? maybe they could ship some as "8800 gt" for $400 retail, then underclock a little bit and reduce msrp down, oh, I dunno, $249 and call it "8700 gts". that would be original.

I can't believe they busted out DX 10.1 when there aren't that many DX 10 games out yet. For those of us that got DX 10 cards, that just sucks ass for us. So angry!

The point is that you wouldn't make a card called an 8800GT that's faster than the 8800GTS, and you wouldn't make a card called the 2950 PRO that's slower than the 2900 PRO. Seeing how the 2900 XT is mostly on par with the 8800GTS, and the 2900 pro is only slightly slower, I'd have to think that the 2950 pro will beat the 8800GT
