Ryzen 1700 overclock

I'm trying to over clock for the first time,
I have a ryzen 1700 on a msi b450 tomahawk, ivd overclocked it to 3.6 and left everything else at auto, it all booted so I opened hw monitor and cpuz and ran cinebench r15, the vcore is at 1.19v max and 1.8v underload, soc is at 1.16, temps are idle 41c and max 74c,

But the voltage on the core seems low I've looked at others and there all at 1.2 - 1.35v?

Just wondering if I'm currently doing something wrong?

If you left everything at auto, then my guess is you haven't touched the voltage. You need to increase the frequency to where it becomes unstable then manually increase the voltage to where it becomes stable again, and your temps are safe. Then increase the frequency, increase the voltage, etc... You will hit a point where it requires too much manual voltage for stability; just below that is your max OC.

SoC voltage seems to be really high. You shouldn't need more than 1.1v unless you are running fast RAM, and even that, that's a bit much.

Anything over 1.2v vSoC is considered unsafe for Summit Ridge.

I've got it at 3.6 @ 1.2v and the soc @ 1v, its able to boot into windows and hasnt had a crash or anything yet, cinebench and gaming and a cpuz stress, idle around 44c and max temp 71c.
Just seems like a low voltage?

Those voltages are fine. And don't be surprised. You may have a pretty good chip! My 1800x is mostly stable @ 3700 MHz running 1.2v .

So should I try 3.7 later at 1.2v? If it wasnt stable it would just blue screen is it?

It might lock up the system or, yes, bluescreen. No big deal unless it crashes during some kind of operation where you might lose valuable data in memory. Since you are still in the testing phase, I doubt you're doing anything too critical.

Don't forget to try stress tests like Prime95. And I personally love y-cruncher. Try a pass of Pi at 2g (multithreaded).

3.6Ghz should be pretty easy with a 1700 so I'm not surprised. I have a 1700X running 3.8G with temps a little under what you have but my vcore is at 1.25625 to keep it stable. I assume I have a better cooler and ambient temps than you.
