You said you had Taichi X670E. Maybe some Windows Update update not playing nice?BTW, somebody asked about 3d chips. For some reason lately, my 7950x3d keeps rebooting. On original bios, not sure what mobo I have right now.
very well could be. It rebooted once due to power outage, and has done several NON-REQUESTED updates since. You said you had Taichi X670E. Maybe some Windows Update update not playing nice?

Thats when the rebooting started. damn windows.
Don't understand why some people "experience" lag with AMD CPUs. Is it mouse cursor lag or some UI related crap? What could be causing this? He's not the first one I've seen complaining.
EDIT: https://www.overclock.net/posts/29452865/
So it's Win11 that's the problem for him. Figures. M$ !!!
Not a hint of hitching or slowness with Zen 5 (or Zen 4) on Windows 11 for me. That all went away when Microsoft released the mitigation patch that removed unnecessary mitigations from newer Zen processors.
Sounds like a software/driver/configuration issue.
Or more anti-AMD FUD. Seems like that has never stopped, so I have to take random internet reports of these kinds of issues with a heaping pile of salt.
AMDip moment, perhaps.
You don't need to wait for the 9950X3D to be in stock. The 9900X3D is performing above the 9800X3D in some games and sometimes better with just the V-cache CCD enabled.

Nope, just rebooted. Not even 12 hours. May try less load, or maybe without a 4090 running. How do you determine uptime in win 10 ? cmd window and uptime ? I will try that
edit, silly me, thats probably linux. Task manager has it. So its at 87% and 10.5 hours. CPU usaage in boinc at 75% max. It was 95%, so usage was probably pegged at 100. Might have fixed my reboot issue. we will see.
I tought that was my CPU, is happening in AMD and Intel systems... Windows 10 and 11 are getting screwed up.damn random driver updates. it's 2025, why is windows still forcing them when it's proven they often mess up systems?
Ahhh. I think I just found the culprit. That and my 9654 were running Rosetta@home beta, and the 9654 is running linux and has not rebooted since the power went out(not really a reboot) and before that YEARS. So I have put on hold the Rosetta tasks, and lets see what happens.Nope, just rebooted. Not even 12 hours. May try less load, or maybe without a 4090 running.
I think this will vary per region in Canada this is what pricing looks like.9950X3D seems to be the best bang for the buck actually, it has more cores than 9800X3D, not much more $$, and has similar gaming performance, at least to my understanding. The trick is finding them in stock, but I know some local stores will have them.
ASRock Nova X870E 9800X3D and 7900XTX nitro flashed to ASRock aqua XOC vbios. ( this I think is most of my issues, setting the DGPU too high)Can we get a count of how many people on these forums have X3D and ASROCK and running issue free?
How far have you gotten with overclocking your CPU? Max GHz and max temps? Ram speed and timings?ASRock Nova X870E 9800X3D
With PBO 5.4Ghz is doable and to go above that you need to start pushing the BCLK above 100 which will vary per board on how stable that will be.How far have you gotten with overclocking your CPU? Max GHz and max temps? Ram speed and timings?
I haven't checked in a cinebench but in gaming yes all cores 5.425 is what I usually see.And all-core?
Have you loaded up that UE5 Matrix demo to see how it fares with your new setup? If you have the Superman mod, is he able to fly around without any slowdowns or hiccups?I haven't checked in a cinebench but in gaming yes all cores 5.425 is what I usually see.
its funny you mention that I do have a few copies of that demo and the superman one.Have you loaded up that UE5 Matrix demo to see how it fares with your new setup? If you have the Superman mod, is he able to fly around without any slowdowns or hiccups?
RAM ive just set at 6400, TDP 105 most auto, been really playing with the GPU. Since I really only play D4 and tried POE2 (craptastic key bindings for MnK) I've seen 5.4 + D4 does not fully load the cpu.How far have you gotten with overclocking your CPU? Max GHz and max temps? Ram speed and timings?
