Welps after reading this whole thread, it seems like somethings never change.

AMD launches, what I feel, is a great CPU for buyers, not all, and welps the only thing I can pull away from this thread (and oddly mostly from pro-AMD posters) is the usual "just wait it will get better" rhetoric that has haunted Bulldozer pretty much for all it's life.

AMD got a good CPU on it's hand. It's about time. But holy cow the defense force because AMD didn't pull a sweep is just amazing.

"Just wait" has been tied to AMD's neck for too long.

EDIT: Because I know the usual gaggle will take this offensively:
TL;DR: you don't have to defend AMD on this one. Let their product speak for themselves. Sheesh.

People that get on a soapbox and pretend to be objective rarely are. You should try to hide your obvious bias better next time.

If you had really read these threads you would see that there are clear and distinct bugs that are being looked into and fixed.

Oh how goalposts change....

Why are you replying to some random post on page 4?

Of course, everyone has a side to defend. No one is free from bias.

I'm well aware of that. As I'm sure many are. But to me, it does more harm to continue to repeat the defense that basically put Bulldozer in an early grave. No, I'm not saying Ryzen is Bulldozer, but "wait for Windows 8, wait for DX12, wait..wait...wait" echoed so much in the CPU/GPU defense of AMD that at this point repeating it, at least to me, is detrimental.

Anyways, I got no horse in this race.

Bulldozer didn't fail, because people defended it from unjust criticism on the internet. It failed, because it was a bad architecture. Ryzen is a great architecture.

No need to wait, if you want/need more than 8 real cores the 1700/x or 1800x is for you, however if you want the platform to mature/stabilize then waiting a bit is the right thing to do.

Some amd fanboy just defending the product and waiting for future.
sorry, most ppl in the world looking for now.

no more hype no more future. not any company sell product like that!!
so stranger some crazy fan teach gamer: you need play a game with 4K resolution! you need a ryzen for workload you need ryzen for.......
wow who are you? for working spent $1000 is really a little money. first point is stability. does ryzen proof it just like 6900k or xeon?

play a game with 1080p/1440p offend anyone? if you like 120/144 or 4K/8K(turst me 4K is old thing) or multi-monitor. it's your choice.
Stop guiding everone buy Ryzen. let their product speak for themselves.

PPT, Stock, Future.

base on 1080p benchmark Ryzen got GPU bottleneck with Titan XP 1-way.
it's mean 4K will improve if you choose 6900K and new graphics king.(maybe SKY-X)
this is future for HEDT. what is HEDT player? budght infinite is basic.
I saw 2-way or 4-way with most HEDT player, Ryzen not for HEDT it's only for cost/performance player.

If people don't buy Ryzen then everyone loses in the end. What do you think will happen if Intel ends up with a complete monopoly?

You're basically saying,

"You don't have to correct the misinformation from the trolls."

I disagree. If you let the trolls dance around the campfire too long, then they will set everything on fire. And then the forum will devolve back into an anti-amd echo chamber.

Hello,
When you make a statement in bold like this, it comes across as if you are shouting over others. You are also trying to dictate to others what they should out shouldn't say. As much as you have a right to disagree with what others have to say, you have no right to tell them not to say it. Aside from that, no one likes being shouted at.

why you still using MHA-L29? it's only 1080p with small screen. who shouting your? without fanboys without post.
With all due respect your English is pretty poor.
It's too hard to understand what you are trying to say.
I can't be bothered with you. Goodbye.

Looks like an encoding monster ~
Go to the gaming benchmark graph. His 1800x is beating 7700k in many games too. If they are accurate, it shows ryzen performance varies widely from game to game. Or gigabyte AM4 boards are magically better for some reason.

Seen that, looks like there's a lot variance in games between different review(er)s & for that we'll likely need an OS patch as well, just to reduce or eliminate the anomalies.

CPUs will actually be polished. Its unacceptable to buy a brand new top shelf processor with a sexy new top shelf motherboard and then wait for a couple of new BIOSs and a new Win 10 build just to get maximum performance. X99 may be over 2 years old but it works and its mature (minus those fancy OC socket Asus boards that may fry your new $1500 CPU, standard X99 boards). The lack of polish from AMD is just poor effort.

meh.. not at all the same. no amount of "fixing" was going to help bulldozer. Ryzen is a home run as far as new architectures go. Little rough around the edges that's all.

It's only beating the 7700K because he downclocked the 7700K to 4GHz and overclocked the 1800X to 4GHz. It's not a useful measurement for actual gaming. No user anywhere would do that with a 7700K for normal usage.

X99 wasn't perfect on day one. It's also easier for Intel since everything has been optimized for their processors for several years now.

Is that so? We know ryzen is at least at broadwell IPC at least but again... Broadwell IPC is more or less that of a haswell because it's just a die shrink.

It also didn't have wonky overhyped performance.
