Ryzen system fps drops

Hello, I have a really annoying problem with my new pc, it has moments in all games when it starts to lag, the duration of the lag is maximum 15 seconds, the fps drops from high to low, doea not matter the scene in game (in bf1 the character will start to move it's weapon by their own during this lag period, in other games just simple fps drops). Before my Ryzen I had a i5 750 platform, so in my new Ryzen I used the parts from that build: hdd, ssd, psu, gpu. I had no fps drops on my old platform, just on this new one. What I did: -check if any throttling happens, temperatures, load -twice windows reinstall -bios updates and reset -update all the drivers

If anyone have any ideas, please tell me. Thank you!

My system: r5 1600, corsair 3000 LPX, asrock ab350 fatality k4.

What is the make/model of the power supply and the GPU?

How long have you had that power supply? That model has been available in the US for over 9 years. It may be having issues with the different load requirements of the Ryzen, added to the fact that it is aging and it's rated power output isn't substantially over the load that the new CPU and GPU are demanding.

7.5 years. I have another psu in house, it's a Super Flower SF-500P12P 500W.
But I only have 1 6pin pcie, I will need a adapter 2molex to 8 pin for my gpu.

You've had your PSU for 7.5 years?

What's the warranty? Like 2-3 years, if that?

Srsly, time to replace. Get one with the correct number of PCI-E power cables for your video card.

Hint: Sometimes the EVGA 600W goes on sale at BestBuy or their ebay store for $30. When it does, stock up and buy two, one for a spare.

I wouldn't get an adapter, I would get a new PSU as most have already suggested.

These are old units, the new ones out there are much better. Don't cheap out now!
(and don't buy crappy PSUs either).

I understand that you don't want to change it if it doesn't need changed but if nothing else, this will give you some peace of mind. The power supply is extremely important and issues with it can fry components or even the whole system. You spent money to upgrade your system......so you definitely don't want to risk throwing it all away if the power supply was to go out and take several components with it. I'm not trying to lecture.....just saying that the power supply isn't a super expensive part to replace unless you go high end. It would be worth it knowing that you'll be set for a few years. Looks like the power supply Larry mentioned is going for about $50 most places. Good luck and let us know what you decide and if that fixes the problem.
