It seems there is big news everyday these days!

BBR loses one w/1,800 WUs but regains David B after his Berkeley checkup w/185,158 WUs. :Q

Forum Hardware.FR Team picks up two new members.

BlackBiker returns to S@N returning his 12,659 WUs.
And they also pick up three additional members, one w/13,889 WUs . :Q

And we have another good day but once again pick up zero new members.

Anyone think it may be time for the RECRUITING THREADS to be put back UP?

I honestly don't see any point in SETI recruiting threads. I think DC members know SETI 1 is winding down and there are many other projects in the mix that are younger where new members can make more progress quickly. I'm afraid most of the future new members we get are going to be direct recruits by current TA SETI members.

Also I think HW France, S@N, Sun, and BBR are all a lot less diversified than Anandtech and that explains why they're adding members and we are not.

The only team we really have to worry about is HW France in front of us and S@N behind us. Hopefully we can maintain our production and keep a steady gain on HW France while holding S@N at bay.

No, no ... not a SETI Recruiting Thread ... "the" Recruiting Thread that promotes all projects.

All projects, including SETI, benefit.

I know Greg, it's just that it seems SETI is now the "old dog" as far as DC projects go. There's newer projects that don't have a bunch of established members with years of production on new members just starting out. I mean, join the SETI team and you've got a long haul to make the top 100. It isn't that way for the other projects.

I'd like to echo Robor's sentiment about Seti.

I have been doing to project for a little more than a year and have enjoyed it immensely but it's kind of lost some of the luster for me given the fact that the project is winding down. The only thing that keeps me interested in Seti right now are the SRL races that OD puts together.

Once I wrap up the race I'm in, I'm going to move much of my fleet over to some other projects. Most likely these will be SOB and DF. These are two projects that I am interested in and my computing power can make a big difference.

Of course, once Seti2 starts up, I'm going to be back on board!

god forbid AT does something useful for its dc projects and puts a notice on the front page. i mean that would be silly. it's not like other tech sites like hardocp or slash. or ars technica does that for their tea - oh. wait. nevermind.

The recruiting threads will still help us to gain new members ,we need those threads back! ,also don't forget that SETI2 will be taking over ,we should be promoting that a little bit more now.
Also any new member will make rapid progress through the lower 1600 or so rankings

HAHAHAHAHA! I love the sarcasm in that statement. Sounds like it came right out of my mouth. In fact, I had to doublecheck to make sure I didn't post that when I was drunk and forgot about it! (no I don't get drunk at work either)

I agree with your idea though. Maybe a "Get TeAm Anandtech into 4th position" recruiting effort would work!

I think all of the projects could use an updating in the welcome thread. And add the new projects also. I thinks there's more than 5 DC projects going.
