S3 became SonicBlue.

The graphics division was sold off to VIA.

Limited support for S3 graphics and sound can still be found at www.diamondmm.com.

I just checked with S3. There are no S3-direct Windows XP drivers for the Sonic Vibes 617. If Windows XP does not already include the drivers for your card, then you are out of luck.

Shame about S3 because that had some great technology and there cards were quite good, just same about the compatiblity and drivers.

This isn't exactly a new development.... S3 was sold/taken over/whatever YEARS ago now. Don't worry, the drivers that exist on the Windows disc are as up-to-date as they ever need to be.
