Come to think of it same is actually happening now with all Apple devices as well... And Android never was anything else to start with. Why can't we just get a clean slim basic OS anymore?
I had rather hoped that Valve would turn their attentions toward making SteamOS the be all end all of a good Linux experience in this regard - alas it seems to live up to its name sake in being only a good platform to use Steam on.

I think it's best if Nvidia does enter the PC CPU space.
It will on the whole push Windows On ARM forward, because of the gravity Nvidia GPU IP has. That's something neither Qualcomm, Samsung or Mediatek have.
To my understanding, the Tegra X1 had an older-school cluster-management; it either uses the High-performance cluster or the efficiency cluster. It simply was disabled on the Switch as it can't rely on the efficiency cluster for running games. Instead, they underclocked the high-performance cluster to get better efficiency.
