Sabertooth Z77 sleep mode fails

This little beast simply won't Go. To. Sleep. It's like a two-year-old that constantly wants to party with Mommy and Daddy. After a ten-second shutdown, it pops right back up to full wakefulness, wagging its tail and irritatingly ready for misadventures. (Sorry for the mixed metaphors, I've had a bit of single-malt.) It's the system in my sig. It has the BIOS version it came with. Anyone else run into this, and is there a solution? Will update later with the BIOS version if it's considered relevant.

Not sure why you haven't gotten a reply on this. The first thing I would try is unplugging everything USB (I'm mainly thinking about that external hard drive or a USB printer) that you can, then test and see if she cries.

My Sabertooth Z77 goes to sleep normally. You obviously have something waking it back up; perhaps your mouse is auto-updating position and that wakes it up. Unplug the mouse and see if that fixes the problem then unplug the keyboard.

It's behaving just like that; I have a wireless Bluetooth mouse but a normal USB keyboard. I'll try yanking the battery out of the mouse before I put the thing to sleep and see if that has an effect. Actually it has an on-off switch. I don't really have anything else actively plugged-in thru USB.

Update. I downloaded and installed the latest Asus BIOS version (1908) and the sleep problem is not solved. Sleeps for about 30 seconds, even with the mouse battery removed, and wakes right back up. Serious bummer. So, now I have my browser settings defined to resume all existing tabs and make sure to finish my workflows before shutting down. The thing boots in less than 20 seconds even with POST, so it doesn't matter that much, but sleep mode is very handy.
