Assuming a person actually could hold on, it would probably rip their arms out of their sockets.

And cheapbidder01, it is sad that someone died but c'mon... there's a difference between stupid and just downright WTF STUPID. This definitely falls in with the latter.

Trained pilots in pressure suits can only do 7-8 G's (source).

At only 60 RPM it would still be over 6 G's.

Screw karma, that's funny.

I'm going to hell. I first felt sad, but then I couldn't stop laughing. I mean, 75 feet must be a record. Now why couldn't it happen to the actual jackass's on MTv? Well, a good guess is that they didn't slam on the gas that fast. She likely died from the whip lash let alone the 75 foot leap into pavement.

This must stop, I do not wish to see air born sixteen year olds on my way to work and landing on my hood.

Enclosed herewith is a copy of my lawsuit against you for the death of my son, Melvin. Melvin was watching the recent news story on John Hinckley's new home visits, and you recklessly, and with knowledge that children would attempt to copy it, showed a clip of Hinkley shooting President Reagan and others. Melvin and his schoolfriends decided to imitate this stunt (note, we have TIVO'd the episode of the news, and you didn't even run a "Don't try this at home") and Melvin played the role of James Brady (due to his previously large forehead). Unfortunately, in their re-enactment, Melvin was shot in the head and did not survive. The media needs to be taught a lesson. Please send my $30 million to me soon.
Thanks
Melvin's dad
That should teach those evil historical clip producers a lesson. <holding up right fist>Power to the People</holding up right fist>

Why is there such a predominant opinion that society is self-governable? That any kid who "falls" for the doability of a Jackass episode is some jerk that deserves it. When will people realize that we are not simply a group of individuals, but a SOCIETY? There is some merit, if you'll even allow, to the idea that we are greater than the sum of our parts. That, protection of the less mentally fortunate of our people is a benefit to us all?

Perhaps, your mother raised you to not believe in those shows, or that you could act out like the Jackass actors could. But that doesn't mean that all those who aren't fortunate enough to get that training, or having that inherent in their minds, DESERVE to die? Given a threshold, some people will fall. Is that a justifiable destiny? Perhaps I would swallow the argument, if that threshold were required for something as productive as survival...but for a TV show? For some low-denominator entertainment, that isn't far off from those who are dying by watching? This is worth the deaths that it causes?

And this doesn't even take into account the detrimental impact upon those who don't act out as they see. Just because Justin is smart enough not to jump into a pile of crap, doesn't mean that his psyche is not affected by watching it.

And to that, I ask you "smart" ones: Why are you so GODDAMNED STUPID?

They probably used a 100' rope to do this since that is the ready size available.

If they used a Dodge Dakota, and stomped on the gas, the truck would have gotten to about 39 MPH based on the stock 60' time and this MPH estimator.

At 10' diameter, you are looking at 31.4' circumference.
39 MPH is 209520 feet per hour, or 3492 feet per minute. 3492/31.4 = 111.2 RPM
5 feet radius is 152.4cm

According to The Math, 111.2 RPM @ 152.4 CM = 21.06 G's

if she weighed only 100 lbs, in 21 G's, the force exerted was equal to over a ton. She had no chance.

Wow, some people here have a little black sack of poop hanging in their chest where their heart is supposed to be. I wonder what your reaction would be if, instead of some kid of the news that none of you know, the victim happened to be the child of a core AT member. Would you still be saying, "LOL, Darwin was right"? And if not, how is this case any different?

The girl had parents and friends who loved her. Their gut reaction to blame the TV show is simply an irrational act caused by grief. What would you do in their position? Ooh, since you apparently do not have a heart, I bet you would just say, "Oh well, our little Bobbi was just too dumb, it seems. The world is better off without her. She only has herself to blame. Let's move on and try to do a better job with our next offspring."

I'm not saying this is a greater tragedy than some kid in Africa dying of hunger, but why do people feel the need to ridicule the death of a silly, foolish teenager??? :|

And, as for the argument that we are better off without all these idiots/morons/etc. polluting the gene pool, I would rather see a sharp drop in unfeeling, bitter, sarcastic nerds instead.

Everything is something else's fault. Fault should never be put on the pesron who did the stupid act or their friends or, god forbid, their parent's. Fault should always be put on some sort of 3rd party such as a TV show, video game, movie, etc.

My god. I'm sorry your daughter died, but it's called "Weeding Out the Gene Pool"

Then why don't you make both sides happy and off yourself?

I've had a revelation.

The cast, crew, and producers of Jackass are working for a higher cause. They are not providing senseless entertainment - they are helping purify humanity. It is time for we, the keepers of the gene pool, to acknowledge this previously unseen assistance and free donation of chlorine.

In summary, MTV is good. They should play more Jackass.
