What do I want to know about someone? I'm confused what you are going on about?
OP is stalking people thru youtube instead of conversing to get to know them.

Its reading comments like this that make me weep for creativity on Youtube. Your only outlet now will be to make videos to express yourself. Time is limited and not everyone has time to watch your videos telling people what you think on a moment to moment basis. The same can be accomplished with a personal landing page that only needs to be accessed when you want to get a FEEL for persons mood, thoughts, opinions, personality, etc, etc, etc.
But please, do watch outdated videos from 2007. That will tell you everything you want to know about someone. :|
Yep, this.
Also, less customization is better. I don't want to go to a channel page and feel like I've gone back to 2000 and stumbled on a MySpace page, which is often what happens when people can change backgrounds, colors, fonts, etc. You should be focusing on the content, not someone's half-assed page design. Good interfaces have consistency and familiarity, which is what YouTube seems to be shooting for.
Google seems to be moving most everything it has created to the "simple, functional" approach. Personally I prefer YouTube as minimalist: it makes a crappy social network, so let's keep it as straight videos/comments/channels.
Just my opionion.
lol at the ruiner of YouTube coming to complain about how YouTube is ruined.
You mean I shouldn't have a background with lots of black which makes it impossible to read the black text? Why did nobody tell me this before???This X 1000. This is why Myspace died because every time I'd click on a page it look like someone barfed on the page. There are a lot of idiots out there who have no clue how to make a nice looking web page. To much clutter is
they're adding paid channels

so pay for the channels you want. there's your customization
So let me guess, "Crackle" is behind this. Or maybe RWJ / Toby / PDP / etc. were not making enough money already.Code found in YouTube’s most recent app update suggests that Google may be working on pay-to-view channels.
Spotted by Android Police, the code mentions subscribing and unsubscribing from paid YouTube channels, a function that will apparently only be available on the web, not in YouTube’s mobile app.
Rumors have circulated for some time that Google was considering paid channels on YouTube; the stray code in the app update all but confirms that rumor.
In January, AdAge reported that Google had reached out to a small number of channel producers, asking them to submit applications and create channels that users would have to pay to access, in most cases to the tune of $1 to $5 per month.
In response to the AdAge story in January, a YouTube representative told Mashable, "We have long maintained that different content requires different types of payment models. The important thing is that, regardless of the model, our creators succeed on the platform. There are a lot of our content creators that think they would benefit from subscriptions, so we’re looking at that."
The company has previously discussed the possibility of offering pay-to-view channels as a way for television networks to continue to broadcast shows that might not be bringing in enough cash to exist on cable networks but have a passionate and dedicated audience.

Also, the auto video play feature on youtube reminds me of Myspace. Myspace would have some music start playing on every page; youtube has videos start playing.

The purpose
of youtube
is to
play videos.
That's awesome. I would pay $1+ a month for more Vice documentaries and I would've paid $5 a month to keep Firefly going.
