Sad news.

Just found out that one of my former co-workers was one of the people killed in the recent NYC train crash.

I thought the name sounded familiar but I didn't realize until my friend called me this morning, exactly who it was.

Sad and surprising.

New York's Metropolitan Transit Authority identified the dead as Donna L. Smith, 54, of Newburgh, New York; James G. Lovell, 58, of Cold Spring, New York; James M. Ferrari, 59, of Montrose, New York; and So Kisook Ahn, 35, of Queens, New York.

New York's Metropolitan Transit Authority identified the dead as Donna L. Smith, 54, of Newburgh, New York; James G. Lovell, 58, of Cold Spring, New York; James M. Ferrari, 59, of Montrose, New York; and So Kisook Ahn, 35, of Queens, New York.

Sounds like mostly older people ride the train.

Jim Lovell. We used to do tech on travelling shows together. I'm a Local 306 union projectionist, he's Local 42, sound.

Alas I missed the funeral last night (car trouble). My friend who was at the funeral has arranged a memorial get-together with a bunch of us old tech buddies.
