Saddam Hussein's Stepson Arrested

MIAMI -- A man believed to be Saddam Hussein's stepson was arrested tonight in Miami on immigration violation charges. He came here to study but did so on the wrong Visa.

Muhammed Saffi arrived in the U.S. on Tuesday. He landed in Los Angeles on a flight originating from New Zealand. He then made his way to South Florida with the intentions of attending a three day commercial airline flight school in the Miami International Airport vacinity.

Humm, I don't know how to respond to that one. On one hand, he isn't his father(the concept of holding sons responsible for their fathers is ridiculous), but the flight school thing doesn't make him look too good.

I think the concept of not letting Iraqi citizens attend flight school in the US is more important.

WSVN has recieved information that Muhammed Saffi has been living in Auckland, New Zealand for a few years with his family. As of last year he was working in a secure area for Air New Zealand as a flight engineer.

Is it really fair to hold him accountable for who his mother is with?

On the other hand, it would be naieve not to find out what the hell he was doing.

South Florida has quite a large middle eastern/islamic population... My guess is that they feel they will fit in a little easier down here... That being said, it is kinda scary that it does all originate down here. Hell, i work less than a mile from where Jose Padilla lived for a few years. My mom has rented out Mohammad Attas apartment across the other side of my town... One of my favorite local bars, GW Sharkys was where the 3-4 hijackers that lived down here planned most of the strategies and met up to discuss their plans...

Shafted? He was detained and will be deported for a visa violation.... just like hundreds of thousands of others this year alone.

it doesnt take a genius to figure out from the context what he was trying to say. Well he's getting deported because of a technicallity.
The tourist visa used to last 6 months and they cut em down to 6 weeks now. Since his seminar is only 3 days, it fits either one.

You are right he is getting booted out on a technicality.

Technically he got a vacation visa.

Technically he came here as a student.

Technically the INS is clamping down on violations and for good reasons.

Technically he is related to Hussein.

Technically the INS would have let him in if he was in good standing.

Technically he was enrolling in a flight school.

Technically the INS did its job.

I tend to take take what someone says at face value. If he *wanted* to say 'prejudice' he would have. It wasn't like it was a typo.

Actually, halik is right, prejudice is more what I meant. BTW, he isn't even a blood relative of Saddam Hussein, his mother married Hussein well after he was born.
