*Sigh* Baghdad is gonna be a bloodbath. You will have old men, old ladies, children... all fighting and willing to give their lives to repel the devils invading their city. George W. Bush will have a lot of blood on his hands.

Maybe you should go have a good cry about it. When you get done go buy ya a bunch of flowers and pass them out on a street corner. That'll fix ya right up.

Let me guess, you are one of those who were laughing at the Iraqis and how fast they were going to surrender, right?

First, if a 13 year old or a 70 year old puts a round through someones head (some OT members excepted), that person is dead.

These people know the lay of the land, and you personally do NOT want to be walking through Baghdad looking for him and his buddies.

It seems that Baghdad has so many against the coalition and few supporting it as far as we can see (although many in fear of saddam of course)....if we could not for sure that they were all against us and would die in the eventual invasion then this could be a solution, a cold but logical one....that would save lives in the overall scheme....

I wouldn't describe that as "winning" a war. The consequences are far ranging and particularly deadly.

"This is my country and these are my people and my duty is to defend them," he says.

Where was he when the Butcher of Baghdad and his hell spawn were gassing, raping and killing his neighbors?

"They will come and they will swim in their blood," he warns.

Must have went to the same school as Saddam

"This is sheer, pure murder," Mr al-Sahhaf says. He says it is also racist behaviour, and attacks will be pursued as war crimes.
I feel sorry for his loss but he is supporting someone who gets his jollies on killing and torturing his own people. Racist? Did not know we were killing all Arabs, just the evil fundy Arabs that like to kill people. War crimes? LOL, that is a good one.

Urban Warfare... its going to be bad.
Doesn't matter if the oppositiong isn't even nearly as well armed as the coalition forces anymore... its close quater combat.
Thousands and thousands of small man teams staked out in civilian homes, undergroup... ANYWHERE.

They said the same exact thing about Afghanistan

Not even remotely similar.

We also had in place Afghan forces who did the fighting on the ground for us for the most part. They knew the terrain, the people, and were supported by the majority of Afghans who were sick of the Taliban. No such force exists in Iraq. This is our show and we have to deal with it by ourselves.

Sigh, once again some of you people are able to extrapolate a few hundred people to be representative of the masses. I would sure like to know where you got your mathematics degrees, I will make sure not send my kids to the same school

BTW, when are the troops supposed to reach Baghdad? Is it still a while away or are they close?

Agreed. People will be shooting from all directions and you will not know where the bullets are coming from. It will be bloody and it could be the time when the president's support begins to go sour when they see 50 soldiers a day dying.

5. We don?t take humanitarian relief and sell them to third world countries and use the money to buy weapons while 99% of our country dies of malnutrition and infections.

9. We don?t poison the drinking water of the certain ethnic minorities.
10. We don?t use 10?s of millions of dollars a year providing medicine and sophisticated medical equipment to only our solders and regime (maybe that?s why those old folks fight, because they were former solders/militiamen lucky enough to get this kind of medical treatment) while 99% of our citizens are not permitted to receive this kind of treatment.

Need I go on?
