If I had to list just albums though overall I'd say the chrono cross or escaflowne sountracks have the saddest songs.

Actually, you're referring to "Seasons of Love." That actually isn't a sad song at all. (It's time now to sing out, for the story never ends. / Let's celebrate, remember a year in the life of friends.)

My song comes at a later point in the show. Best song in the show, IMHO (which is saying a LOT, considering nearly every song in that show has been my favorite at one time or another, except Seasons of Love, which was too played out and overhyped).
