Safe Oc and voltage for 24/7

Hi , my setup as follows :

2600k @ 4.5ghz
asus p8p67 evo
vengeance 2x4gb
6970 2gb
seasonic x-760w


I only have adjusted the cpu vcore to 1.32v(bios) , the rest remains the same. Completed LinX for 25 times (2hrs) , the vcore under load is 1.274v (cpuz).

May I know which reading is more accurate ? Is 1.32v considered high for daily 24/7 usage ?

1.27 under full load makes sense due to VDroop (google it).....basically the voltage drops when the thing is full bore. If you're just using it regularly the Vcore may flutter up to the 1.32. Did you use Fixed Voltage or Offset? If fixed, then when the computer is at rest it should read 1.32 on CPU-Z.


Interested if you can run Prime95 for extended periods. I have been locking up in Prime95 after an hour or two.

Yea , at idle the cpu-z shows 1.31~1.32v

I've generally been running a 42x or 43x OC, but on my 44x tests yesterday I would get up to about 58-60 in the first few minutes while the automatic fan speed kicked in, and then it would settle around 53-56 depending on the core (although my Core 0 is always like 8 degrees cooler than the other 3, so it might only be in the upper 40s)

The temps are quite good.

For my case , not so good even though the tests were alright. At peak , all cores were around 75 to 79. I wonder if I need to remount the heatsink and reapply the thermal paste , although my country's climate is warmer.

I am using the Hyper 212+ cooler FYI. Maybe you're using the stock cooler? Hyper 212+ ...... Best $15 (after rebate) I ever spent
